I emailed mine in 3 months ago. Haven’t heard a peep back from them saying thanks we got it or anything. I assume they got it. I’m still flying so if they were that concerned I figured they would get ahold of me.

GoodGuy wrote: Sun Sep 27, 2020 1:54 am Is it possible to send in the ATTESTATION form by Email? Reason being, my Cat 1 expires in a week and I'm kind of waiting last minute. I don't want it to expire.
I sent mine in 3-4 months ago and never heard back. Sent another email and tried to contact them by phone a month ago since my medical officially expired and still nothing. I assume as long as you attest that you're fit to fly, your medical is valid. Why would they dispute your declaration form anyways?

I think the whole point of the attestation process is to remove administrative burden from TC, not add to it by requiring them to acknowledge receipt or contact you. You email it, the email gets quickly sorted into their records system, and it's only looked at again or thought about if there's a dispute or problem.

It might be wise to keep a copy of the email showing the date you sent it, but otherwise, it's "fire and forget".

If you want confirmation that your attestation was received, and also confirmation of the validity (including the validity period - important, as it's not particularly straight forward) request it either in your email to TC with the attestation or in a follow up.

The Pacific Region was quite good about following up quickly; but absolutely dropped the ball on validity periods. Although, they were very quick to catch that I'd not been billed for my previous years medical...

For those that submitted an attestation, did you 1) receive an email acknowledgement from TC, and 2) have an updated medical expiry date on the portal (https://gart.tc.gc.ca/secure/galro-aglie/Index.aspx)?

I have received #1 but no updates to my medical expiry on #2.

Yes, the portal still shows Sep 2019 for my cat 1 medical expiry, but they confirmed by email that the attestation is valid to renew my cat 3 medical. That email came 21 days after the email confirming they had received my attestation (in June).

Ok, thank you. Glad I'm not the only one seeing stale expiry dates in the portal.

Can someone tell me if the self attestation covers the ECG requirement too?

If I was due for my ECG to be done at my next renewal but I self attested, do I still have to take an appointment for the ECG?
