CPAER Sharper Edge and more
Hi all,
Going to start hard core daily studying for CPAER soon so I can hopefully write by the end of the year, or early next year.
I know this has probably been asked before a while ago but I'm wondering what are the latest books, resources, and study methods/tips that some of you recent CPAER writers have used. I have heard Sharper Edge is one of the best?
Thanks.

as you have some time, id totally recommend pilottraining.ca. Just watch all the videos in 2x speed, and you will be good. It will reinforce your fundamentals like anything. It does take patience.

Re: CPAER Sharper Edge and more
I’m personally not fond of Sharper Edge, not sure if their CPAER product is better than the INRAT but I know a few people (current students of mine as well as former classmates) who have used their product for the INRAT with very little success, this may be attributed to their studying habits, or could be the product offered. As far as CPAER material goes, Flying Beyond is an excellent resource, I also had success using pilotexams.ca and doing literally thousands of practice questions. If you get a question wrong don’t just move on from it either, figure out why you got the wrong answer and learn what the correct answer is and how to get there. I wrote my CPAER about four years ago and work as an instructor now.

Def agree! Pilottraining.ca was wicked to help with the CPAER and covered everything well! I used it for the INRAT and IATRA. Passed all with ease. A bit of a cost compared to the book (S.E) but def well worth the instructor help. And they're super quick to respond to any questions.Flightgame wrote: ↑Sun Nov 08, 2020 9:36 pm as you have some time, id totally recommend pilottraining.ca. I'm currently using the Sharper edge for the Instructor written and there are a few items already erroneous, mind you mine is a 2019 copy (I started the rating back then..
Anyway good luck!
Re: CPAER Sharper Edge and more
Although I used pilotranining.ca for my CPL I never returned to their products after using it - the value just wasn't there imo. Dependent on your learning style of course, I didn't find listening to archaic content & videos conducive to my learning style and it was clear very little effort was put into maintaining the course & practice exams. There are a couple of other options out there now than there was back in 2016 when I wrote my CPL. Do some research and choose the best option that you think will ensure you succeed.

HI,
The CPL, IFR, ATPL courses have all been refreshed in the last year with new videos and up to date practice questions. We get a lot of feedback and have an entire team working on the courses now.
