Food for thought...
Why is it that nearly every thread on this site end up coming down to bashing operators??? While I understand that every company has its good and bad points, and lots have more bad than good, thats just the reality of the business... Im curious about how many people have dreaded getting up in the morning to go to work at SOME job in the morning... For me anyways, the worst day waiting to go flying is still way better than the best day sitting behind a desk, and as much as there are times that I get sick and tired of dealing with the crap that comes with the job at times, I would still rather deal with it than being stuck behind a desk... How many of the people slinging shit on here about company's have ever tried to run one, or for that matter know the first thing about the business end of it short of lighting the fire, driving the bus, and picking up the cheque... Now while I know there are a few lucky people that get their start at companies like NCA, Borek, Tindi etc., more have gotten their start at companies like Nav Air, Peace Air, Northwright etc., and I think everybody should be thankful that there are people that have the balls to deal with TC and put up their cash to start companies, shitty or not, so that we can all wake up in the morning to do something we enjoy...
It's easy to feel victimized on AvCanada, but the reality is that EVERYONE gets slammed, not just operators.
The aviation industry is full of people striving to do nothing but give themselves a feeling of superiorty over the rest of aviation.
Stealth is the best weapon. If you don't want to be victimized, then don't reveal anything about yourself. There are some on here that will pounce on any little opportunity to slam you on the tiniest flaw.

curse
Hey Westcoastguy,
Perhaps you should have dropped the curse, motivated your response with some intelligent insight to grab our attention and done a spell check!
We have all cursed on this forum, and I am no angel as I cursed poor old Doc on one of my earliest posts (rants). Not really proud of it, I was out of line and it was out of character for me and I apologized......maybe you should do the same!

Cyyz, 2 comes after 1. B comes after A. My comment came after "West's" remark. So what are you trying to say?West - (sly remark, or he just doesn't like CID)"fark you"
Chantal, In modern times, one of the things that pilots are trained for is navigating.
Historically aircraft were operated much like ships. There were several crew members including pilots who steered, navigators who calculated the course, and radio operators.
These days the pilot is responsible for it all. So I don't consider it all that odd that someone would call themselves some kind of navigator on an aviation forum.
Does my post seem patronizing? I guess it does.

Arctic,
I'm on my way to thank my boss for putting his money on the line and letting me work my butt off for peanuts. I guess most of the smaller operators out there are just misunderstood. They haven't meant to take advantage of pilots for the last 10 years, they've meant to pay them and treat them all fairly. The stress of making money at the expense of all expendable pilots must have forced them into it.
