This makes me proud to be a Dutchman

I was speaking with my father and he mentioned this to me. I knew King Alex had secretly worked for KLM for a few decades before his coronation. I didn't know that he still flies the royal family and Dutch diplomats himself.

Toch wel een gemiste kans dat ze'm niet oranje geschilderd hebben!
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

LOL, I understand Dutch just well enough to not need to translate that. They really should have IMHO.

Zeker een gemiste kans - hadden ze toch anders aan moeten pakken!
Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business

They did at least give it a quite regal delft blue livery.

Delfts Blauw zou ook een goede keus zijn geweesd. Maar oranje met tulpen op de staart zou ultiem zijn geweesd.

Haha, I'll bite.
I translate that as "Delft Blue would have been good. But an orange tulip on the tail would have been better."
I am assuming "tail" from context, I can't translate that but it makes sense - now to go check it and see how good I am with my Dutch.

My dutch heritage means I'm too tall to fit in an ejection seat. *cries*

Wait, is 6 feet even too tall to fit into an ejection seat?

6'4" is. My legs are long enough that I'd easily lose them if I pulled the handles to eject.RedAndWhiteBaron wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 9:46 pm Wait, is 6 feet even too tall to fit into an ejection seat?

Well that gives me hope for my planned future acrobatics. I'm 5' 11½', but 6' in the water.youhavecontrol wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 9:52 pm6'4" is. Try flying a Grob. You may be surprised.
