The science is not changing but the "experts" seem to be admitting they were overly cautious.
People want things to open. Open the outdoors. Open the province, end hotel quarantine for those who are vaccinated. This is getting ridiculous.
What the hell is everyone waiting for? Covid Zero? We should not go another week of restrictions. The Pandemic is over. Get your Vax, its time to move on. We don't need Dougie to do our risk assessment any longer. Go golf, its safe. Go camping, go live and enjoy summer. Living summer 2021 any other way is idiotic.

Re: Open Ontario
You're on an internet forum. In a subsection about covid. You do understand how forums work, right?
Re: Open Ontario
Thank you Doug ford for your plan to open Ontario. We all noticed your plan is to keep restrictions for most of the summer so that we can re open right in time for flu season.
Excellent. We can’t think of a better time to re-open Ontario for a couple weeks p, so that we can go right back into a mock-down in the fall. Me so happy you choosing to save lives over freedoms. These wing nuts here will appreciate this safe approach!
Looking forward to covidzero when it’s safe to fully reopen. Please keep telling trudope to keep border closed... obviously you are the only one who cares about our safety and we need your voice. Americans don’t wear masks, we should definitely keep border closed unless they follow our same restrictions or cases go to zero in America.
I make song for you Doug..

vishnya la boreh... boreh boreh boreh... DOFO has no vishnya, boreh boreh boreh...

Re: Open Ontario
With the way travel looks on the major highways - one can only come to the most reasonable conclusion that no one is listening to any stay-at-home order.
Surprisingly our grumbling is apart of the minority. IF you read the polling - apparently people really love having their lives restricted in the name of some COVID-less future
le sigh.
Re: Open Ontario
Typical Canada: "Let's treat everyone like kindergarteners".
It's absurd, it's insulting and it's pointless. Common sense has escaped our politicians, but hey "Stay safe"... (an expression that must sexually arouse our "leaders").

Re: Open Ontario
That's because common sense has all but left the average citizen. Too many kindergartners out there who can't see beyond their own noses. Would be nice if we could all act like adults and we would get treated as such..
Re: Open Ontario
The majority of Canadians are acting like adults. The problem is, blanket policies are easier to implement than specific, result oriented ones. One size fits all. You can go to Costo and wait in line with 20 other people, but you can't golf. It's ridiculous.
Re: Open Ontario
When you have rules and regulations coming from people that have no credibility left and that don't make sense people just ignore them.
Everyone I speak to is rolling their eyes at government interference and incompetence and moving on as best they can without regard to it. It won't stop most people anymore from seeing friends and family, gathering, socializing.
Their announcements, their restrictions are nothing more than a nuisance, just noise at this point. Irrelevant AFAIC.
I feel sorry for the kids. I feel sorry for the people that have lost their businesses and jobs.

Re: Open Ontario
I feel sorry for all the small business owners and non box store companies. The government basically gave all the business to places like Amazon & Costco. I've never seen so many amazon boxes in the recycle before. What a cash cow of garbage quality product.

Re: Open Ontario
This is my quote about the nanny state of our country including covid:
"When the individual abdicates their responsibility for their future both financial and well being to the governments, the government fills that void and nearly always fails and poor outcomes result. They also charge and aggregate admin fee of 36percent in income tax and another 20precent in various consumer taxes " the biggest line items in the federal budget are 1/ debt interest payments 2 )health transfer to provinces. 3) Dept of Defence 4) indigenous affairs.
Remember government grows government not wealth or wellness. In fact, the debt payments exceed the combined budget of d.n.d. and indigenous affairs it is not there to serve you the individual but control the population. the reason there were lock downs, were to protect the health care industry from being overwhelmed and the population revolting demanding more private health care that can get things done more efficiently which would put tens of thousands in said industry on the street .
I am often reminded of a line from a popular movie , Russell Crowe in the movie 'American Gangster' circa 2007 . " I dont think they really want to stop the drug trade or there will 100,000 people out of work" you can draw a line from that example to a hundred different areas in Canada You can flame away all you want but the amount of debt and the ineffectiveness of govt all comes back to roost on each and every one of us ,for the collective failure and handing over that responsibility .

Re: Open Ontario
Now you're catching on. You have no choice but to buy Chinese "goods," all under the veil of a pandemic.
Also, notice how your PPE comes from the same place that the disease came from? Weird, right? You'd think they'd separate that a little better.
Re: Open Ontario
It's almost as though the government wants us all to die. Except for that lack of tax revenue and all. Maybe they didn't think that through very well.ReserveTank wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 6:52 amNow you're catching on. You have no choice but to buy Chinese "goods," all under the veil of a pandemic.
