Latest on Zimbabwe

Post by Springbok »

For those of you who may be interested on reading up about what is happening in Zimbabwe, go to this link and see what the madman Mugabe is up to. Just scroll down on the home page until you see the Zimbabwe headline. Do a Zimbabwe search or read the "related stories" pop up menu for more in depth analysis.

http://www.sundaytimes.co.za

This is a South African newspaper will a lot of black reporters who have done some serious undercover journalism in Zimbabwe. As you know, Mugabe has banned all foreign press from the country. If you are found by his security forces, you are arrested and stand a good chance to be tried for your "crimes".

I worked in Zimbabwe about 15 years ago. Wonderful country, bad government, even then.

Right now, I think Mugabe is a walking advertisment for armed UN intervention. Doubt it will happen unless there's an oil find.

I've been enjoying your posts. Your writing kinda reminds me of Duke.

Both of you guys should share some of those stories. It is unfortunate that not a lot of info about what is happening there gets out and Mugabe gets away with it.

My Dad was born there and grew up there. We spent a lot of time there even after moving to SA. Our family were chased off their farms after independence in 1980. My Uncle left with a C172 from his farm strip and all he had was the money in his pocket. Like you guys said, I bet that if Zimbabwe had oil or uranium or platinum or something else vital, the Brits and the Yanks would certainly do something but then again, they cnnot always be expected to go and sort somebody elses shit out. The Brits sold Rhodesia down the river, so they should still be responsible.

WOw I love how Mugabe started calling on the states and britain in his speech at the UN, amazing how he was there to begin with, amazing still that he was allowed to speak, but the most shocking part, poeple actually applauded that jackass....just keeps my opinion of the UN at an all time low.

Thanks for the link

Cheers

UN

Post by Springbok »

I will drink to that, the UN is a waste of time and the pricks that hang out with them are oxygen thieves and a waste of space. Read the book by Canadian General Delaire with regard to the Rwanda issues. That will put the mighty UN into perspective for anyone. I am yet to see the movie, "Hotel Rwanda" but I believe it also makes a point re the UN. Funny to see that at the time of the Rwanda crisis, Kofi Annan was the head honcho of that specific tasking and the stupi f--cker is still there!!

Good observation Scuba-steve

I have yet to read 'shake hands with the devil' although I watched the documentary and its on my 'to read' list.

I had a good laugh durring the last election, when at the debate in my riding, the question was asked (my former hometown is a left of center haven) if canada should send troops into countries like hati without a UN mandate, naturally the Liberal canidate was evasive, the NDP canidate said "absolutely not we should never do anythign without the UN giving us the OK", the Conservative Canidate, put it quiet well and said " there are cases where we cannot wait for the UN, and need to act" - Good answer and then the Christian Heritage guy said this (in a crusty affected british accent no less) " The United Nations has become the worlds most constipated and irrelivant organization, basing our forien policy off their dithering does nothing but waste time" You should have heard the hippies gasping :)

He almost got my vote!

Cheers

Actually the UN is working perfectly .
The UN does not interfere with anybody and gives peace to those who want peace and let's those who want war they get what they want.
Uncle Bob and his fellows are Africa's problem and if Africa cannot solve it's own problems who can .
I would suggest that the Chinese should go there and sort out the mess. Why the Chinese ?The Chinese can solve problems a lot quicker than anyone else. The Vietnamese boat people problem in Hong Kong for instance .Lasted for almost ten years under the Brits ,when China took over the problem was solved in three weeks.
If anyone else goes their they will be accused of imperialism and no matter how good the intent will be hated anyway .So why bother?
If white men treated blacks the way uncle bob treats whites the UN would be screaming racism !!!!
The reason they are all starving is because Uncle Bob's Veteran's killed so many White farmers.Reap what you sow .

I also belive that Africa must solve its own problems and stop screaming to the rest of the first world for handouts and help with AIDS, poverty and all the other self induced crap they muster up to attract the bleeding heart organisations around the world.

Zimbabwe actually had the Chinese in country in 1980 after independence where they trained Zim soldiers / comrades / terrorists. They also gave Zims some old antiquated MIGS as a gift. Old Bob has a special bunch of thugs called the Red Brigade, all Chinese trained and evil to the core.

It is a pity they did not stick around for a while to sort our all the shit that came as a result of bad management. Kind of like the boat people you mention.
