UK slowing down vaccinations at 55%. Isreal has nearly stopped vaccinating at 60% of the population receiving at least one dose. The U.S. is stalling out its vaccine uptake at 48% receiving their first dose. In all these countries, the death rate, and infection rates are plummeting.

Terry Tam has stated that she needs to see 75% of Canadians receiving their first shot, and at least 20% having their second before seriously considering lifting Federal Covid policies.

While possible, 75% is not logically attainable. This will not end, and borders will not open until until the Federal Government shifts the opening metric to "hospitalizations and death rates". Period.

We need "reasonable" Federal guidance that Provinces can use as a baseline, otherwise it will be a complete clusterfock.

This administration thrives on extinguishing hope.

I mean you cant be this ignorant as to why we have more with the first shot right? Its because we aren't giving second shots. I mean a toddle can see that. And it looks like the vaccine is not very effective after just one shot. anywhere from 13-30% against the variants. Shoots up to 90% after the second shot. So tell me again how delaying the shot is good?

Both those links are from trash rags. Please link a reputable peer reviewed study. I don’t think you will want to as it shows one dose is very INEFFECTIVE against any of the variants.

We've made a choice in Canada.... based on Science more people with one dose vs less people with full protection...the goal is to control the infection and reduce impact on the health system, 50% with some protection is better than 25% fully protected for the overall control of outbreak... Delay in doses are also rooted in sciences, the 28 days between doses got approved because of time constraint (to get the vaccines out faster couldn't wait for a full 6 months study), new data as expected showing a better immune response after 4-6 month (like most other vaccines)

The point is get your 1st shot as soon as you can, even if you still get sick it should be as bad as if you were unvaccinated, 2nd shot will come soon and probably a 3rd one next winter....

The other article you post references a non-peer reviewed look at 170 80-100 year olds, people with varying poor immune systems to begin with. And while the article title, which is as deep as most people will go, talks about increased antibodies, the paper itself talks about other responses associated with immunity being not as strong. Clearly they are selling a narrative.

Also even if we are to believe that delaying the second dose does provide some increase in immunity, there is a risk associated with that extended time in between doses where you have less immunity than if you were to have the second dose now. The pandemic is now, not 3 months from now.

There's an update to that research. They found that 87% of those men under observation also has wives that gained, on average 64lbs, while sitting on the couch watching Netflix eating potato chips. There is now a new study commissioned about Covid related erectile disfunction with this in mind.

My guess is the fully vaccinated number is much higher than 3% in Canada. No one who got vaccinated in the United States or elsewhere is counted unless they contacted their local public health agency - and good luck having them call you back.
