Tax on MX work in USA

Post by ghazanhaider »

Are we taxed on maintenance we do on our planes (car602/part 91) in the states?

Am I supposed to declare say a tire replacement or fuel injector cleaning at the border coming back? How about engine overhaul or cylinder replacement?

Yes: any planned work including engine replacement, new avionics, absolutely, yes.

Emergency maintenance is taxed at a lower or nil rate.
