a-de-st-ex,

Bien sur mon copain, send in your resume. Cargojet hires French, Lebanese, Indian, Polish, European, Asian, African, black, white, yellow, red, blue and even some shades of green. It's a great palce to work while having a good time. Lot's of growth, expansion and personal advancement opportunity to be had. As far as getting hired, knowing someone within who can put a good word in for you would help tremendously. Bon chance!

I don't know, are King Air F/Os making over 38k these days? And no...you could always stay at 1640 DME and commute.
No, not even working two jobs, but neither are CJ's SO's.

Thanks Pogey, everybody loves to jump on the kiss the CP's ass bandwagon, but there are numerous people out there who agree with me, you just don't hear from them cause they're not suckers for punishment like me. :)

Hey Co-joe,

I stand corrected, the S/Os here are making around 37K. Not bad I'd say if you consider the average time for S/O to F/O upgrade has been under a year and F/Os start at around 50k.

As for the CP ass kiss-fest you postulate about, I would think it's safe to say that any positive input you see on this or any other forum regarding Cargojet and more specifically George Sugar, is written by someone who has first hand experience of both. Now if you consider that with the exception of George, everyone else here goes under an assumed "handle", who benefits from anonymously making out with his ass?

Ask anyone who has ever had the pleasure of working with or for him, I assure you that you'll hear nothing but praise born out of respect not only for the man but also the Chief Pilot. If in your eyes this constitutes ass kissing, be prepared to see alot of puckered lips baby![/u]

Hey gelbisch,

Congrats on your getting in to AC. It's been a pleasure working with you and I'm sure it'll be a welcome change to actually do some flying again! All the best partner.

Actually, no.
 Shocker, I know it is, but you actually make more money than a King-Air copilot. Oh, and you get to pretty much fly above all the crap weather. The only drawback is that you don't get to log the flying time.

Air China

Post by China Instructor »

A bit off topic but I got the chance to sit in the jumpseat of a 737-800 doing circuits with F.O.'s who had 250 hours total. All has to do with supply and demand. Yes there is movement in Canada, but its still pretty bad for pilots compared to the rest of the world. India isn't much different than China from what I hear. So if you think 500 hours multi turbine PIC is reasonable for a S.O. thats fair enough. All has to do with perspective I guess.

i wouldn't put much into that. a lot of companies with severe labour problems won this award - sponsored by the bank they use. (not pickin on anyone here - it's just a tits useless emblem to put on your napkins for a year....anyway- an unrelated aside to a topic that has been beaten to death. please, continue...

I don't get it!! :?: The guy is advertising for pilots to fly a 727 and people crap all over it. :? Back in the late 70's early 80's I would have killed for this job. Hell, I was happy flying a buck80 around with a pile of fish in the back. :smt120

Never worried about the money much, I knew that would eventually come. Never made a side ways move from one gig to another, couple of times took better jobs for less money, it was always about the experience. Sorry maybe I'm old (45), but this sounds like a great job for someone to build on. :smt023

Forget about YHM... if you want to live in a good city, go to YXU. The girls there are way hotter, and there is a lot less pollution ;)

C-HRIS...what are you talking about? YXU sucks..the town has zero personality & the houses a grossly overpriced & everybody's white...except I remember a few years ago one of the Western dorm's made the Letterman top 10 of best places to get laid North America. The girls who aren't skanks are serority snobs....YHM has way more joie de vivre & personality!!!!

China Instructor,

You can have a monkey fly an airplane but when the s%$?t hits the fan with a mechanical, lousy wx, congested aiports its experience that makes you take the decisions needed to survive....that's why Canada has one of the best safety records in the world to wich I woudn't want to compare China's ,Taiwan or Korea's . Experience matters.

Plus YHM is the home of the Mafia in Canada. Hamilton and Montreal are the two biggest mob cities in Canada.

Ahh yes, Saugeen Maitland Hall (aka "the zoo). That place is a disaster waiting to happen! It's pretty much an appartment building full of 900 horny university students. :D

Was reading on "YYZ News.com" today about Cargojet looking to set up its own "Regional" carrier, though a cargo version....article mentioned using one or two types, would this be the same idea as what Fedex has in the states with its smaller contract carriers that are using ATR's? Any idea what they would use up here for aircraft with a regional cargo carrier? B1900's, Dash 8's, ATR 42's???

It's item 12...

CARGO JET RECRUITING

Post by john smith »

To CARGOJET

I think CARGOJET is doing a good job, keeping the industry busy and giving less experienced pilots the opportunity to advance their career.
