What's The Likelihood of Getting My Cat 4?
I've finally decided to stop putting it off and to go out and get my PPL. However; I am bipolar (bipolar II to be exact) but have been on the same meds for years with no side effects. Is TC going to flat out say no? Would getting my GP to write a note help?

While I’d encourage you to take a CAME, unfortunately it’s going to be extraordinarily likely you will be disqualified from holding a medical. A friend of mine was going down the path of becoming a commercial pilot (PPL, Multi, IFR down), and when he got diagnosed (bipolar 2), it was a show stopper.

You should read the Handbook for Civial Aviation Medical Examiners:
https://tc.canada.ca/en/aviation/public ... atry-ssris
And then book an appointment with a CAME. Nobody here can tell you anything.

DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.

Also, the first line of your post and the thread title are incongruent: a PPL requires a category 3 medical certificate.
