Their world is shrinking
Re: Their world is shrinking
So your argument is basically - no government, no lockdown?
I guess that could work. I mean they are the ones taxing you to death. I'm not trying to take your guns away either. The government is.
Down with government! Problem Solved?

Re: Their world is shrinking
Its not my argument, its my opinion. My preference will usually side with less government and less policy. This is not an argument of facts and science, its an opinion and its my values.
Should people wear masks? Maybe they should. But why cant people decide, and be given choice?
Do vaccines work? Is covid deadly? So why would you need to mandate vaccines? If you have a vaccine (and you are confident they work), why the heck would you give a shit what choice others make? If covid is so deadly, why is everyone not shaking in their boots lined up for as many shots as possible?
People are not vaccine hesitant, they simp0ly don't want the vaccine, the same they don't want a flu shot. These people just want the autonomy to make these choices. I know many people who have gotten the vaccine who also said they 100 percent wont get their children vaccinated (unless the strong man government makes it mandatory). But whey would the government make a covid vaccine mandatory for a 6 year old when the flu is more dangerous?
Are my values backwards to you? Well tough! You can have your own values and you can vote with those values. I have my doubts that I'm alone. I'm willing to bet media manipulation makes it seem like there's a few crazy people who don't want vax passports. But I will accept whatever happens, I will accept policy until it becomes to much. I think it is mostly ignorance that is leading the vaccine passport movement. Its people that think covid causes lockdowns, and that vaxpass will stop lockdowns. I have a surprise for the ignorant, covid doesn't cause lockdowns and vaxpassports don't prevent them. Sometimes you have to watch your ideas unfold and reflect in a few years. So remind me in 2025 and lets see your opinion on the subject then. Maybe we will both have some reflecting to do. It was only a month ago on the radio the host was talking about our huge over reaction to covid and unnecessary fear etc... today that same host is going on about how we need vax passports

You're right. Let's get rid of government. Start with the MOT. I never liked their policies anyway. I should be able to fly an un-airworthy airplane drunk because you know - freedom. What's that, my poor life decision might impact other people? Too bad. #freedom
I have a 6 year old and it isn't mandatory or even approved for that matter. If you're spouting BS, why not go for the tried and true Bill Gates/microchip in vaccine line? That one is a classic.
And COVID is more dangerous and deadly than the common influenza.
Just because you watched a YouTube video from Jenny McArthy's long lost cousin's uncle doesn't make you an immunologist or a statistician. If you somehow know better than a trained professional by watching a YouTube video, I should be ok to let some PC gamer fly an airliner tomorrow. What could go wrong? He watched a few videos and would obviously know better than a couple of trained professionals.
Vaccine passports already exist. There are certain countries that I have travelled to years ago that required proof of vaccination against Yellow Fever and Encephalitis (if I remember correctly). Maybe you've never been to these places. Maybe you never will. Fact is, you required proof 10+ years ago. Now we are just digitizing the process. What's the big deal with a Vaccine passport anyway? Your doctor has all of your medical records digitized. Now you have a copy too.
You're right - they are willfully ignorant.

“You want less government, so this means you actually want no government, so you basically want planes to fall out of the sky and kill everyone! Freeedumb!!!”
Do you follow science? 19 and under age group represented the highest number of covid cases in Canada (over 19 percent) yet accounted for 14 deaths total. Please explain to me how this is more deadly than influenza. Do you believe vaccines should be mandatory for those under 20?

Hold on Arnie, let me preemptively get me face ready for your reply…
“Delta variant” “we need masks” “flatten the curve” “all trumps fault”
Ok here it is.

Montado,
You've brought up the fact that the vaccine only has emergency approval at this point. Should that change to normal approval, whatever that looks like. Will that do anything to your opinion?

Re: Their world is shrinking
I have never once argued the vaccines are not approved fully. Not sure if that’s more of an American thing with the fda. I’m not even certain of Canada’s approval process. I got my shots lol.
But no the basis of my values doesn’t change. Less policy, less government. I’m so glad I don’t live in a city. I listen to the radio with people debating city bylaws about feeding squirrels and the fellow who got a 600 dollar fine for doing so. Some people seem to just live in a chamber of one policy after another. Typical liberal way of thinking. Insert problem, make policy to solve problem, make two policies to fix the problems created by the first policy.
So no I’m not for vaccine passports, and not a big fan of businesses making vaccination rules. However I will have to accept whatever policy comes my way. All I’m saying is I won’t agree with it. Part of me is laughing inside for when this doesn’t work out. My prediction is the government lays down some pretty significant policy… and in a year nothing really improves and covid is still spreading and new variants emerge. People don’t realize the only way for covid policy to go away is to let your government know you have had enough. I figured once people were able to get the vaccine they would have had enough but hysteria is still strong. Funny how the media pumps out news about how great the vaccines work, yet vaccinated people are still not satisfied.
Really looking forward to this winter, hope that the province’s that dropped mask mandates hold strong and I hope the idiot ford keeps masks all winter. People need to see the data. Ontario is about to blow up with delta covid while we mask up.

pss. covid passports exist because you needed a Yellow Fever vax? EDITED is starting to look pretty intelligent next to you.

1920s Germany was pure hell on the population. A defeated country, repeatedly kicked in the face.
We're not quite there yet, but the standard "revolution" playbook is running, just with high technology.

I like to describe it as above-room--temperature IQ but not breaking triple digits. Smart enough only to want to conform socially, they are susceptible to illogical propaganda. In the last 20 years, terrible TV programming (In leftist Canada, TV programs you!) and relentless social media campaigns easily shaped these people's otherwise lackluster or totally absent principles.

How many 19 and under died of influenza in the same period. You can't only quote one side of the statistic and say that it proves your point.montado wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 6:29 pmDo you follow science? 19 and under age group represented the highest number of covid cases in Canada (over 19 percent) yet accounted for 14 deaths total. Just throwing out an idea here - maybe, there is another way. If there was no COVID, there might not be a COVID policy. We don't have a Spanish Flu policy any more...
Please tell me what Rules businesses have implemented.
See? We aren't so different. I can agree with you here.
Why do you think we have drunk driving laws or a minimum age in the first place? Apparently too many people believe they are smarter or better than science.
Thanks for pointing out that I'm old. Now about those stupid ANO's that the MOT keeps changing...
Re: Their world is shrinking
How do you propose we get rid of COVID?
Do you believe that we don't have Spanish Flu anymore?
How do you think that pandemic came to an end?

Not quite. The propaganda behind the injections is in itself illogical. "The science," as you so parrot it, is a nouveau term for the anti-science that has become the new religion of the west. Completely illogical: https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/05/health/u ... index.html
Here's an anecdote: Recently at my company, one VAXXED pilot went on the sick list during a trip and tested positive for COVID. The other UNVAXXED pilot was contacted and informed about the likelihood of exposure. Second pilot had cold symptoms and tested negative for corona TWICE, spaced a few days apart.
The vaxxed are a lot of the new cases...search for yourself-it's all over the news. There's definitely a cold going around. I wonder if a regular adenovirus (or even influenza) causes the vaxxed's immune systems to go ape shit once infected. Seeing how there have been zero long term tests and they wanted us to get jabbed so urgently...ah well, i'm starting to ramble crazy things.
ThE sCiEncE...explain it to me.
Re: Their world is shrinking
I'm not sure what your point is, and I think you're confused. You should look at the science rather than anecdotes. Currently 95% of new cases are unvaccinated here in BC. Similar figure for the rest of Canada, and for deaths and hospitalizations from COVID. My mother got COVID even though she was double vaccinated months ago. That's what the science tells us. Nothing weird go on, no conspiracy theories. Just science and statistics.ReserveTank wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 7:27 am

Re: Their world is shrinking
If you are vaccinated and get mild symptoms would you even get tested? (I know my answer and it's no). If I have cold symptomsim not getting tested. Can I still spread covid as one who's vaccinated? So maybe just looking at confirmed cases is not very scientific. I think a randomized testing where you bring a random selection of 5k vax and non vax people might result with a different result than 95 percent.
How many people are vaccinated and chalk up every symptom to be something other than covid.
How many non vaccinate chalk up every symptom to be covid.?
Don't be fooled by factors of human behaviour.
If you are vaccinated and call your health unit with symptoms would they even recommend you get a test?
Until I get the answers to these questions I think we really don't know how many vaccinated people are getting and passing covid. Florida is 50 percent vaccinated and is peaking worse than any previous wave. It would be hard for me to believe the vaccinated people are not contributing to the spread. Infact just look at cdc guidance, they know the vaccinated peopleare getting covid.it's no secret.

Re: Their world is shrinking
Well if you die or are hospitalised you don't typically say "oh it couldn't be covid", and you can't just brush those off. 90+% for those figures too, as I mentioned in my post.montado wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 9:37 am If you are vaccinated and get mild symptoms would you even get tested? Sorry am I miss understanding? You said
“Currently 95% of new cases are unvaccinated here in BC.”
Did you mean to say
95 percent of hospitalization and deaths are unvaccinated?
Well of course, we know the science says the vaccines prevent more sever symptoms, and I can accept that as accurate.
As far as cases in the general population, hospitalization doesn’t tell us the full story of how covid spreads in the community. It’s quite possible many vaccinated people are still getting mild cases of covid. Same with many unvaccinated people. Not everyone ends up in the hospital.

Re: Their world is shrinking
I think you are spot on. We have to stop idiots from exercising their free choice at the expense of our tax dollars. On that same thread we should:
- enforce every pedestrian to wear day Glo jackets with flashing lights, and with built in airbags to walk out anywhere in public. This will reduce the injuries which our tax dollars pay for.
- bicycles should also be banned which contribute to high injuries with also high costs
- all food with any fats and divers should also be banned
- alcohol also be banned for its high costs to our health system
- all bathrooms ( highest injury rate within a house) should all be mandated to have rubber matting, baths to be outlawed, walls to have padded to protect people
-elderly people should be locked away with no access to anyone or allowed to move around as they fall a lot and contribute to high health costs.
Oh there is so much we should do. I'm sick of other people and their freedom contributing to my high tax dollars.
And if you disagree with any of this, you should also be locked away as you are also indirectly contributing to my high tax dollars.
You are a tool.

Re: Their world is shrinking
Isn't it the whole point of getting the vaccine, reduce the amount of confirmed cases stretching our healthcare ressources? Never have I seen a credible source saying the Covid vaccine will eradicate Covid... Only that it helps people not die from it. If people pass it on like the flu, it doesn't really matter if people don't get sick to the point of going to the hospital. It would be just like... well... the flu !
I have always seen the end of covid being the point where enough people are vaccinated that hospitals can handle it...
Re: Their world is shrinking
This is why I thought as soon as those 60 plus were vaccinated life could be normal. Boy was I wrong. Now we need vaccine passports, approval to vaccinate all ages down to 1 year olds and then it will probably be a new variant so a booster will be required.the-minister31 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 07, 2021 2:52 pmIsn't it the whole point of getting the vaccine, reduce the amount of confirmed cases stretching our healthcare ressources? I wish someone from the beginning just made it clear. We need to flatten the curve so we can wear masks and social distance so we can lockdown then shutdown then do a bit of both downs then vaccinate for herd immunity but herd immunity doesn't stop the need for vax passports but it does take us to stage 3 and once we leave stage 3 don't expect to not need masks becausethe virus will still spread. Just tell it like it is... Nothing we are doing ends the pandemic... We have all these measures to just get us to the next one. Do you believe for one second if we all had vaccines this would be over?
Re: Their world is shrinking
I doubt the vaccines are even going to work. Even the “science” is starting to admit that. And the interview was on CNN “The Most Trusted Name in News”
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/bl ... nsmission/
The Director of the CDC made an important admission during an interview today on CNN. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky stated the vaccine does not prevent COVID-19 infection, nor does it stop the vaccinated person from transmitting the infection or the delta variant. According to Director Walensky, the only benefit from the vaccine now is presumably that it reduces the severity of symptoms.
If a vaccinated and non-vaccinated person have the same capacity to carry, shed and transmit the virus – with or without symptoms – then what difference does a vaccination passport or vaccination ID make?
According to the CDC TODAY, both the vaxxed and non-vaxxed person walking into a restaurant, store, group, venue or workplace present the exact same risk to other people there, so how does the presentation of proof of vaccine make any difference?
