I have just lost the ability to make a “personal choice” on how I treat my body. Comply with the government, or lose your job. What in the actual FU*K is happening to this country?

Works for me as long as the Crown Corps are complying before pax are required to comply.

My guess will be mandatory flu vaccine. In fact they might just roll covid and the flu vax into one if that’s possible. But that seems like a reasonable next step. If you look at flu and covid deaths in the age group that can’t get vaccinated, flu deaths are on par or even higher. So it’s only reasonable if our risk tolerance for covid requires mandatory vaccines, the flu shot will follow…

So I see the progression as vaccine gets approved for under 12, then it becomes mandatory for school kids, then next the flu vaccine becomes also mandatory for everyone. Because why not? Then what’s next after that?

I was chatting with a manager who was waiting to get onto a flight. They have been discussing this scenario for the better part of a year. What happens if the vaccines become mandatory. Basically he said, “Bottom line nobody’s going to loose their job for not getting vaccinated.” Then I said,” so they’ll keep flying ?” He looked at me and said,” we have 600 pilots on layoff status that would be willing to step in.”
They can’t tailor pairings because it won’t respect seniority, so more than likely they would offer a “special LOA “ with conditions that you’ll be offline for a specific duration and there’s talks with the government that those willing to stand up for their freedoms can qualify for EI.

That would be a win win for both sides.
