It's been more fun watching this one brew.
All I'll say is this...
Regarding the DC10, might want to have a look:

Correct s/n on the aircraft (46541). Left GYR for Uganda (DAS is Uganda based) on July 9th. Here's the movement report:
That's about the best I can help you guys on this one...

Or maybe the fact they tried to start a DC-10 operation with duo-tang and transport laughed, mean while they were paying 250,000 a month for the thing to sit on a ramp.
I'd like to know how ACE accomplished the Newark to Bermuda flight with just one crew all week long. Last time I checked 3 days of 12 hr duties equals 24 hrs off. I think ACE skirted a lot of rules and made a lot of promises to a lot of people and those unfortunate people who believed in the lies are now on the street. Hopefully they will all find a good home soon with a company that respects them.

What exactly happened with that DC-10? (I mean operationally not who operates it now)
Aside from the fact that it was the wrong airplane for so many reasons, and the fact that ACE had no idea what they were getting into as far as getting it certified. This was definitly the company killer - at least financially.
Eventually they did get it certified, painted, and registered. So - why did it never do any runs for them? Did their contract up and walk?

The freighter version was not previously type certified in Canada... The -30 pax version received it's TC in 1979.
Go down below, follow the link, then open the PDF and go down to page 6. There you will see confirmation that the -30F was approved March 14th 2005.
