Re: Voyaguer Salary
$20.07 x 2000hrs/yr = $40,140. 'Bout the same as a Jazz F/O, or am I missing something?

Yes! The fact that an airline pilot doesn't get paid the same way a full time employee does at a regular job. Multiply that number by about 900-1000.
Re: Voyaguer Salary
I think that might have been sarcasm with the 2000 hours lolTbayer2021 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 6:19 pmmmm..bacon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 3:44 pm $20.07 x 2000hrs/yr = $40,140. 'Bout the same as a Jazz F/O, or am I missing something?

Haha, I hope so! But I noticed plenty of people here don't understand how most airline pilots get paid. Not sure if Mr. Bacon knows and I'm too lazy to go through his post history to see what he knows.scabbydoo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 10:54 pmI think that might have been sarcasm with the 2000 hours lolTbayer2021 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 6:19 pmmmm..bacon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 3:44 pm $20.07 x 2000hrs/yr = $40,140. Fully aware of how airline pilots get paid; just chose to give Voyageur the benefit of the doubt that their pay rate was tied to a 'standard' ~ 2000hr work year. I'll agree that $20/flt hr is pathetic..

Re: Voyaguer Salary
Entry level excavator/operator with zero experience is $25/hr. Within 6 months you're around $35/hr. 40 hrs a week that's 72k, and you get a few days off here and there for weather.
After a few years you're at 40-50/hr.
This voyageur pay must be a flight hour bonus on top of a flat salary, or do they really pay less than what a Class 4 makes?

Re: Voyaguer Salary
Voyageur pay is actually pretty damn good. A large part of the total compensation is the ridiculously high periderms (and yes, in this case they are pay since in many places you are in a company accomodation with food supplied). Plus the danger pay %. I know FOs who were making over 100k a year. One did an extra month (so 7 out of 12). Captains make even more. Voag is a good gig if you can deal with being in the desert for two months straight, multiple times a year. Best part is you can live anywhere in the world. Tax haven, or not. Want to live in Malta and pay zero tax? Sure go for it? Want to live in Copenhagen? No problem. Company will fly you in and out of your rotation from anywhere in the world.
Re: Voyaguer Salary
Are they managing to hire pilots if their pay is so bad?

By periderms I'm assuming you mean per diem.
It is exactly this kind of abuse that will make Canada Revenue Agency look into it and eventually make per diem taxable for all.
