Encore interview request
Just curious if any one has received an interview request or know when Encore is expecting to conduct interviews for the applications submitted Nov/Dec 2021?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Encore interview request
From my probably unreliable source, most likely not until end of January...
Re: Encore interview request
Applied with my buddy around the same time. He got a digital interview request, and still waiting on mine. We applied on the first day it was posted.
Re: Encore interview request
Just curious if anyone knows candidates that had good educational background, references, and work experience but between 500-1000 hrs or even the minimum 250... do they even bother with that experience level?
Re: Encore interview request
Given how many people have spent the last two years at whatever 703/4/whatever they were at getting a bunch of time, I don't think we're gonna see anyone with those sorts of times getting a call in this round.

Re: Encore interview request
Sent in an application with 2000 and 1400 PIC with a few years on twin turbine and got a near instant reject. Most likely got sifted out due to clicking the 65k range for salary expectations. (Heard of guys with much more than me taking 50-55k first year to get on at WJ in the last 5 years)
I don’t know anyone there but I have an idea on how to increase your consideration if you’re on the light end of experience like me.

I don't know why they would bother asking what you want to make. The salary is set by the collective agreement and should be made clear before the application process.citabriaguy wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 8:41 pmSent in an application with 2000 and 1400 PIC with a few years on twin turbine and got a near instant reject. Re: Encore interview request
It's a test of reading comprehension. Put out a job post that advertises salary as 'as per collective agreement', then in the application ask what candidate expects to earn at that job. It's a way to instantly reject those with poor reading comprehension.imjustlurking wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 6:38 am I don't know why they would bother asking what you want to make. Sure, if the agreement was made publicly available.goldeneagle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 8:13 amIt's a test of reading comprehension. They just closed the posting. Anyone worth an interview should probably get an invite soon.

How soon after he applied did he get a digital interview request?

If you're being PFO'd, you'll know.Collidingwiththesky wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:26 pmHow soon after he applied did he get a digital interview request?
You can check your application status on the same website that you applied.

Re: Encore interview request
Would it be stuck on “Thank you for your application” or would it actually tell you you’re PFO’ed?imjustlurking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:24 amIf you're being PFO'd, you'll know.Collidingwiththesky wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:26 pmHow soon after he applied did he get a digital interview request?

I believe the PFO status is "Unsuccessful at this time"hank998899 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:50 amWould it be stuck on “Thank you for your application” or would it actually tell you you’re PFO’ed?imjustlurking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:24 amIf you're being PFO'd, you'll know.Collidingwiththesky wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:26 pm

You likely won't receive any correspondence until your offer of interview.
Re: Encore interview request
Mine changed to "in progress" right before the window closed, and they've been in touch with me.hank998899 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:50 amWould it be stuck on “Thank you for your application” or would it actually tell you you’re PFO’ed?imjustlurking wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:24 amIf you're being PFO'd, you'll know.Collidingwiththesky wrote: ↑Wed Jan 05, 2022 10:26 pm

Re: Encore interview request
IIRC, the statuses that I have seen are "In Progress", "Unsuccessful at This Time", "Withdrawn", and "Hired."
There may be more, but if you're on anything but unsuccessful, you're probably still in the clear.
Re: Encore interview request
Keep in mind that all airlines are cutting schedules and re-evaluating their winter and spring schedules so hiring is probably low on the priority list right now.

Air Canada has a lot of furloughed pilots still. WestJet will be fully recalled by May.fish4life wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:11 amhttps://www.google.com/amp/s/beta.ctvne ... 30017.html

Jazz and Encore are fully recalled with the last of their recalls scheduled to be trained in the next couple of months.
Hiring is definitely on the table and is actively being worked on. Airlines are not so short sighted as to ignore hiring until it's too late... well, they are but not right now.
Re: Encore interview request
Looks like they're also hiring for Swoop. Most likely WJ wants to beat the post-pandemic hiring (Porter doing the same), get enough of a pool going to support the flow/retirements onto the mainline. If last summer in the USA (Canada a small sample of it) was any indication, flights were being canceled due to lack of crew. A 15% decrease in operations is easier to implement than a 30% increase.. given how long it takes to train then re-train!
