They are truly amazing aircraft. I worked for a company called Africa Cargo Airlines in Malawi in 1997 and we flew a fleet of 2 Antonov 32`s. We mainly did cargo runs to and from South Africa. They carried about 6.5 tons of cargo. Once we had to move a load of vehicles so we leased an Antonov 12 for the job. It is the biggest of the range that I have seen first hand. It even still had the rear gunners turret intact!
I am searching through some old fotos as I know I have some of the 32. I might have packed them already as I am in the process of moving, but will keep up the search.
What a/c landed at Vancouver?

I'm not sure, it was here to p/u a helicopter to bring to Iraq for the earthquake victems.
I was really sad I did not bring a camera, because my memory is already fading now. I do remember a van was driving around the area and it drove under the wing and looked like a little bug. I thought that was quite amazing. Ide love to see any photos you have if they are available since I could only see from the back through a fence >.<
We get the Polet and Volga Dneper AN124 as well as the occasional Antonov Bureau one. I believe the Polet one is contracted to fly steel in from Tokyo for Toyota's Cambridge plant. The routing is RJAA-PANC-CYYZ-RJAA

I must say it was really great... I was actually boggled at how large it was...
Anyone else want to share?
And so you can see that the folks that hang around AvCanada turn out to be a wealth of info!! And nobody fried you either. You do however push the envelope a little with your "Was it loud" question in the last post
