Title says it all, is the may review happening? or will it be pushed back because the last one was delayed?

I don't expect to see one until June at the earliest. That will put us back on the "normal" cycle. That said I can't see many changes, there's still a lot of vacancies that need to be filled by new hires.

Traditionally the largest moving CMHC bids are Aug to Oct each year. That is the start of the planning for the following summer. Most everything after that is tweaking for summer. Any bid now will be tweaking for next winter or possibly cargo.

But again. The late summer to fall bid is the one to watch if there is going to be movement.

I'm surprised that committee has not been forced to change their name to gender neutral in this woke society

Most Jr vs active pilots: does that mean that AC has 392 inactive pilots? That seems like a lot.

Seniority numbers are assigned Jan. 1 each year. All the retirements between Jan. 1 and today are included in those 5223 seniority numbers to the most junior pilots. Probably +/-125 pilots... hopefully more...

Also resignations...

About 12 resignations on this bid alone... I'd have to go back, but I think that's the most I've seen maybe ever... There used to almost never be a resignation, in the last couple years it has been increasing. More on every bid.

14 thanks, I didn't count just saw a bunch of them... anyway, those guys, the retirees, the terminated pilot, etc. all have seniority numbers of the 5223 that the most junior pilot represents.

Training department pilots are not inactive pilots (CP, MPQ, Standards are all management pilots, FI's are not)

Correct, yes that is the plan. By Q1 2025 AC's hiring rate will decrease significantly to a nominal rate.

It’s been so long. What is a normal rate again? For people outside AC, 703, 704, 705.. It will be nice to work with folks who don’t have such an urgent passion to quit their job. Looking forward for this rat race to end.

That passion won't go away. You'll just add frustration on top because they're stuck where they don't want to be

Not sure that is 100% accurate.

It had been fairly publicly articulated (PIT courses) that the AC line pilot population would be around 6000 by end of 2025. That would imply around another 500 hired in 2025.

Economy might have some bearing on that. Freighter operation already looks like it is being scaled back on staffing from original plan. But lots of airframes on order. Perhaps decisions will be made about retiring some of the older airframes if demand is not there.

Yes, Rudder does bring up a good point. They might not hire to fill all position by the end of next year. Also cargo is seeing a reduction bid. Looks like 87 is also over the amount of FO's required.
