Does anybody know what they are paying? And what there conditions are?

Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
If either was acceptable, they would not be advertising for pilots.

I'm sure it can't be much different from swoop and flair!

Not the best quality photo but this seems to be accurate from what I've heard.

Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
Just 40 more days of work per year for that truck driving position.
I have a feeling that pilots are just bad at math all around.
The real answer though.
$500.

So go drive a truck then! Yes wages can be better. But at least for myself, wages are only a portion of why I choose a career in aviation, and not the end all be all.
Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
Exactly. That job pays well because driving a 10 axle tanker is difficult, dangerous, requires experience and is long hours. It should pay more than most aviation jobs.TC.Enforcement wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 1:13 pmSo go drive a truck then! Yes wages can be better. Not saying that alot of pilots aren't underpaid, but there is alot more to a career than salary.
Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
And flying a twotter or dash 7 or 737 or whatever in the arctic full of fuel in the middle of winter in a ripping xwind and blowing snow down to minimums at night isn't all of those things?? Yes, there are flying jobs that you could call "easy", but there's a lot that should pay way more than a trucker's salary I think. And the common denominator of being underpaid doesn't seem to discriminate based on how difficult the job is, for the most part. But I certainly agree with you that there is a lot more to a career than salary. But also, a guy needs to be able to afford to live.Flight94 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 2:08 pmExactly. Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
That's why I said "most" aviation jobs. This particular trucking job is more or less the equivalent of that snowstorm xwind arctic gig. Driving a dry van around the lower 48 is similar to flying autopilot ILS to ILS, and the pay reflects that.scdriver wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 3:55 pmAnd flying a twotter or dash 7 or 737 or whatever in the arctic full of fuel in the middle of winter in a ripping xwind and blowing snow down to minimums at night isn't all of those things?? Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
If your considering a career change to become a trucker instead of a pilot, you should honestly just go for it.
This career is no fun unless you are passionate about aviation.

I enjoy things like eating and having a social life, and that's hard on a $50k income with $100k for flight school debtTC.Enforcement wrote: ↑Tue Apr 12, 2022 1:13 pmSo go drive a truck then! A lot of similarities between a trucker and a pilot, both get to pee into a bottle. Truckers at least can pull over!

Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
All these ULCC pilots should hang their head in shame. Thanks for destroying a career for our kids in aviation because you're to bloody arrogant to sit as an FO in a better paying job. It'll be these pilots that are the death of aviation. Thx again
Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
Are you dumb? Some of these ULCC's pay their FO's more than the legacy airlines here. Do your homework next time

Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
Pretty sure Air Canada pilots are destroying it for all Canadian pilots. Negotiating 10 percent pay cut during 8 percent inflation. Captains paid less than jet blue FOs. If anyone was going to raise wages in this industry it would start with the largest airlines.
Shame on everyone

I’m sure there is a more sensible way to look at pilot wages in Canada but if we just want to swing our fists and blame each other….

Re: Lynx Air Pilot Pay
Not a Lynx pilot but remember when almost everyone didn't like the WestJet original guys for "bringing down the industry".

Good luck to all, though no shares is the biggest downside.

Pretty sure they were still fishing boogers out of seatbacks 20 years after that.
