Flight passes?

Question for the guys and gals at jazz. What do you get offered as flights passes and who is included on them. Do you still get buddy passes every year?

In a nutshell, unlimited C4 priority passes. Wife or common-law partner, children. No buddy passes but you can take a buddy with you. A named travel partner. I believe there is provision for immediate family i.e. mother & father.

This info is based on 'new hire' rules...

-unlimited C4 travel
-10 employee accompanied partner passes/yr
-parents unlimited C5 travel
-children unlimited travel up to 25yrs of age

This info is based on pilots who existed on the seniority list prior to 2006...

-unlimited C2 travel (25/30/35/40yr service award travel)
-10 employee accompanied partner passes/yr
-parents unlimited C3 travel
-children unlimited travel up to 25yrs of age

For those of us who dont know what c3,c4,c5. Could you explain? With c4 good chance making a flight?

C2 C3 and so on is just a priority and it would be accompanied by a seniority number. So according to the above post, the parent of a jazz pilot on the old contract would board before an active pilot on the new contract. All C2 board before C3 and so on and within each category then seniority based.

really makes you wonder when relatives of employees who hold less years then active pilots are ahead on the priority...

It's always been like that in some ways. You may have been with AC for 25 years but the spouse of an employee hired the day before you gets on first

Airline employees should bargain for an allotment of confirmed travel.

It's been a crazy summer so far for standby travel. Guys are using B1's to commute and still not getting on.

I think they just recently changed it. The new hire classes at Jazz are being told there is no longer a 6 month wait. I have been at Jazz for less than 6 months and both my spouse and I have been using AC passes, and not only between my base and residence.

A B1 is a type of high priority pass that only mainline pilots get. They get a couple of them per year for them and their immediate family but I guess it is so difficult to commute right now on some routes that they have been “wasting” them on their

I stand corrected. Change was effective Oct 21st, 2021.

The Other Airline travel program is available after the emp completes the 185 day travel probation period.

For Pilots, they are given access to the OAL program from day 1 in order to register for the Reciprocal Jumpseat program only.

Don't forget the Alpa jumpseat list. Go anywhere on any US Alpa carrier for free. Only pay security fees if crossing borders, but it's restricted to just the employee. Free to come back into Canada.

If you do not have a recognized spouse, married or common law, you are considered single and you can identify a "designated companion".

This person travels using your passes allotment just as other companion with the exception that they can do so unaccompanied.
