Aviation Document Booklet Renewal
Hello everyone,
I'm abroad and need to renew my ADB. Do I need to send the renewal form to the regional office that issued my first ADB (haven't been there in years) or any will do ?
If any will do, are there any that are less backlogged with application than others ? I read in these forums it could take months to get your ADB
Thank you to anyone who has some insight on that matter .
Jojo

Re: Aviation Document Booklet Renewal
I don't think it matters anymore. Most applications go to a national pile and are processed by the first available TC employee.

This might be of interest to you:
NCR-019-2022 – This exemption allows all holders of Canadian Aviation Document Booklets (ADB) that were still valid on March 12, 2020 to continue exercising the privileges stated in their booklet until February 28, 2023, or beyond if the expiry date affixed in the booklet is later, as the continued backlog is expected to persist through next year and will impair the processing and issuance of licences and ADBs prior to their expiration. This exemption extends the regulatory relief previously granted under exemption NCR-059-2021, which was in effect until June 30, 2022. CARs provisions: 401.12(2), 402.08(2) & (3).
Exemptions are made available upon request via email, in PDF format on the Transport Canada Exemptions to the CARs Web page.

Re: Aviation Document Booklet Renewal
How long are ADB renewals taking in 2023 ?
Curious to hear everyone's experiences who are in the process right now...and how far in advance (considering delays at TC) should one submit a renewal application to get ahead of the curve ?

Ontario. I’ve tried calling and emailing. Is there any extensions available that anyone has seen? I’ve gone through the advisory circulars to no avail.futboler14 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 8:25 amWhat region you in? Re: Aviation Document Booklet Renewal
I applied in August. Still nothing. E-Mailed TC a couple days ago. This is the reply:
"Presently, due to unforeseen problems with the printing press in Ottawa – there is a delay expected before Aviation Document Booklet’s can be printed and issued.
We anticipate the above listed issue to resolve Mid January 2024"
Hopefully soon...
