Job Industry in Canada

Post by ols500 »

Hello,

Reading through the forum I can't decide how worried to be about getting a job after completing my professional pilots course (+ Instructor rating) at Harv air. Im from the UK, and looking at getting the PGWP after completing my training to get hired then PR. I cannot go back to the UK as I cannot obtain a class 1 medical there (colour blind), but have a full unrestricted TC Class 1. I do not care where I work, -40c in the Arctic circle, in the middle of no where, any aircraft. Im not trying to rush straight into an A320... Id like to explore the various types of flying careers etc. Id happily move from Steinbach with no questions asked. I have a decent amount of funding for at least 1.5-2 years. In beginning training this August, so id be looking for a job around September 2023 I presume.

Have a great day,

Kind regards, Ollie

If you are willing to work hard in adverse conditions you’ll be fine. Your first job may not be flying though so keep that in mind. If you have an instructor rating you may be able to skip the ground to flight line position entirely. As long as a colossal recession is avoided attrition at flight school’s to the part 7 world should set you up to find a job as an instructor. Networking will be key to getting your first couple jobs. Enjoy the ride.
