Position Summary

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the AMO Planning Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of planning a successful maintenance visit for customers ensuring the operations teams is set for success. The planning supervisor also play a strategic role on defining the scope of work and the maintenance schedule for company owned assets and validating quotes for customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Manage a team of maintenance planners to plan all the aspects of a maintenance visit, including, but not limited to: Work scopes, work package (work orders), schedule, parts list, rotables list, tooling list and services list.
Ensure deliverables are finished within deadlines without compromising quality.
Create tools and controls to monitor all the functions of accountability to ensure that all aspects are being managed properly. Manage by metrics.
Comply with company policies and procedures and ensure direct reports compliance. Identify processes gaps and make changes as required to streamline planning operations.
Approve work scopes, schedules and budgets for maintenance and modifications visits for company owned assets based on customer and OEM requirements, and Transport Canada regulations.
Validate quotes for maintenance and modifications visits for customer owned assets based on the customer work scope.
Provide Input to various departments to improve performance and ensure efficient and effective planning of work with Quality, Production, OH&S.
Create and maintain a facility master plan with all the scheduled maintenance visits and related details. Provide input to the bidding team of windows of opportunity and bottle necks.
Create and maintain a facility resource map and perform an analysis of capacity versus demand to provide insight to operations and HR for resources strategy.

Education and Professional Qualifications

AME Transport Canada License, Aviation related Degree or Engineering Degree.
Master’s degree or MBA will be considered an asset.


Minimum Ten (10) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance/modification planning.
Minimum two (2) years’ management and or leadership experience in the AMO environment.
Must have a good working knowledge of Civil Aviation Authority regulations
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project within a Windows environment.
Must have experience using MRP / ERP systems.
De Havilland aircraft (DHC8, DHC6, CL) experience will be considered an asset.
