Airspeed Call on Takeoff

Post by pelmet »

Not sure what happened here but sometimes you get a situation where the pilot not flying misses the 8o knot call(or 100 knots) and then notices that they forgot to call it and still says '80 knots' when the aircraft in now at a much different speed. Best to just call the actual speed.....

"C-GOJC, an Air Transat A321 conducting flight TSC225 from San Francisco International Airport
(KSFO), CA to Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL), QC rejected its takeoff
on Runway 01R in KSFO following the suspicion of an unreliable airspeed by one of the flight crew.
During deceleration the crew assessed and determined that the speed was reliable and that it was
a perception error during airspeed crosscheck on the part of the crew.

The aircraft was guided by ATC to a spot on the airport to cool off the brakes. The second takeoff
was uneventful."
