Bonds...will there be more or less?

Post by BirdDog IV »

Some questions arose this week with some fellow pilots.
One was:
Do you think that companies will do away with the training bond in the near future or do you think that more "bonds" will start appearing because of the increasing demand, ie. faster transition "up the ladder"?
Are smaller companies going to worry more about losing pilots faster to bigger and better jobs.

I would like to read some thoughts about this.

Thanks

There will be more bonds, once the "crafty" operators learn how to defend themselves in court to make them stand up.

If not, there will be more "pay-to-play" operators.

Agreed there will be more bonds they will never go away. But hopefully as the demand for pilots (slowly) increases so will the pay, making those bonds easier to deal with.

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re a pilot.

Definetly more bonds. Our company went from only bonding new hires to bonding every upgrade - ie King Air to Dash 7 or 8 to CRJ.....
Thanks to Jazz hiring all of our guys.....

Yeah..STUPID JAZZ
Maybe the problem lies with guys who are lacking in the integrity department ...leaving after just getting a fresh PPC.
besides... i think all the companies that have not had to pay for any initial training for the last few years will now have somewhere to put all that money they saved in Training. (good thing you socked it all away! )
BTW, my answer is More bonds to come :?

Definitely more bonds! Operators seem to be having a harder time now nailing down crews as more and more hiring continues with the majors. People will be moving on faster than what has happened over the past years. I sure that smaller operators will need some way of keeping the lower time guys from walking off to greener pastures.

Just my $0.02 CAD or 22,971.8 Turkish Lira TRL
