Stay away from this train wreck.
A bad contract, low moral, lowest pay in Canada for 705 ops, Alpa trying to save face (not working), management running around trying to put out the fires (also, not working).

I’m gonna add to previous,
ALPA DOH mergers with no fences. Divided pilot group (green circle BS) AC didn’t honour the flow agreement. Flying changes with a fart from AC. No stability (probability of closing yyc base). And it needs to be said again how shit the pay is.

Apparently Jazz is the new pipeline to Morningstar….

DEPENDS...
For college students with 250 hours YES
Other pilots with anything north of 1000hr, why Jazz? One of the lowest pay 705 FO and CA in Canada, False hope of going to AC(60% flow? haha NOPE), Super expensive health benefits and deductions ($300+ a month), lots of deadheading, schedule controlled by AC, and of course FO pay is unbearable.
Don't get me wrong, Jazz is the biggest regional in the country, very stable in long term even not going to AC,...however, they need to fix the pay scale. It's embarrassing

Aside from the pay deductions are brutal at Jazz.
Re: Simple Poll: Should a pilot apply to jazz?
If you can get on with any of the 737 operators I would go that route. Until the pay is fixed I would not come here. It sucks. Even on the higher pay levels the deductions are ridiculous.

I’m with most of the respondents in this thread.
Hard no.
Morale at jazz is all time low. Even if you’re the most upbeat guy and don’t mind the 55% deductions of your paycheck and can keep yourself afloat most days, it still feels like you are chained to the Titanic’s rusting anchor.
If your goal is Big Red, spend a few years at ANY 705 operator, and stay long enough to do a year or two in the left seat. Experience is the metric, not what airline you worked for. (Generally, lol!)

I'm unaware of the total time and experience you have in this case. If you'd have less than a 1000hrs time then definitely it's better to apply there, if you've got more than that please consider applying somewhere else. However in my opinion It's not a good choice to work for them either, from complaints of less pay to expensive premium healthcare benefits. It's a total mess in this place right now. Your better off flying for an airline elsewhere, with some experience you have the best bet of getting a job with the largest carriers in this country. Many are stuck in the hopes that somehow they might be able to get a flow towards the big carrot perhaps it's just what they might think of only instead.
