Medical refusal vs deferral

Post by Av232 »

Hello,

When I went for my medical renewal it was deferred by the CAME and TC eventually requested more info on it. I was then issued a new sticker for my medical once TC approved my docs

Do I have to answer yes to the question “have you ever been refused issue or renewal of a medical” next time I get a renewal?

Thanks

You got the renewal eventually, so I would answer 'no' to that question.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

No, you weren't refused.

I have been refused in the past and am always deferred due to a medical condition. I still get my medical renewed every 6 months, but not by a CAME - it comes from Ottawa, because a specialist needs to see my file. Routine process.

I was about to make a post, but will just add to this one.
Current Class 1 holder, similarly deferred then approved.

Dialdriver, how would you go about speaking to a TC medical doctor? I've spent over 10 hours on hold trying to talk to someone, and emailed twice over the last 3 months. No replies. I'm trying to find what a prognosis might look like for someone in my situation. Any tips or tricks on how to speak to someone at TC would be appreciated! My CAME was not particularly helpful...
