Bottom of Payscale:
Year 1 CA $127.62 ($122,512.80)
Year 1 FO $63.68 ($61,132.80)
Top of Payscale:
Year 12 CA $198.79 ($190,841.60)
Year 10 FO $107.96 ($103,638.40)
Pairings: No one really knows yet (Dash8 has 1, 2, 3 and 4 days)
New Destinations: To be announced
Bases: YYZ to start. YOW and YHZ to follow. Western base at some point. Chance of a YUL base in the future
Commutable from YUL: Yes, Porter has a commuting policy, though nothing officially announced specifically for the E2
Other Info: First class apparently starts in September. Type certification ~ Nov/Dec.
Good luck!
Re: E2 new hire
We have no idea about bases other than YYZ. Anyone who says otherwise is just speaking conjecture.

Re: E2 new hire
Did E2 DEC interview in August (2nd week). Since then all has been quiet. During the interview, it was said that the outcome of the interview would be notified within 02 weeks. Have not heard anything in the last 8 weeks. Emails were not replied to.
I guess it is reasonable to assume that the interview was not successful and move on with the next available opportunity.

Re: E2 new hire
Depends how quickly you want to move.
Porter has committed to 50 jets, that's nearly 750 new flight crew right there at 15 pilots per tail, if they don't off their Dash 8s.
At this point it's only a matter of time. If you're keen on trying a riskier bets like Porter, Flair also has openings.

The only non risk airline in Canada is AC with the government ownership. They will never be aloud to go under, unlike the others in this country. I'd consider Porter much more stabilized and established than most in this country. Where the E2 ends up is anyones guess, but with the expansion of the order, I'd say they have confidence in the plan otherwise it would have stayed capped.schnitzel2k3 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 6:52 am At this point it's only a matter of time. Agreed. Will be interesting to see how their E2's stack up against WS and AC's mixed transborder and domestic fleet. Economics wise says they will be more competitive as the E2's offer better margins.flyinhigh wrote: ↑Sun Oct 09, 2022 9:07 amThe only non risk airline in Canada is AC with the government ownership. You seem sure! Did they sell the shares they bought?

“The government purchased $500 million worth of Air Canada common shares at $23.18 per share, representing about 6 per cent of the current public float, which it continues to hold.”

I think Elon musk bought them, and will charge $8 per bathroom use once he acquires the remaining shares.

Re: E2 new hire
There is no collective bargaining agreement for Porter pilots. Their employment is dictated by the company as they have chosen to remain without union representation.
