‘‘Twas the night before ALPA

Post by BingBong »

Twas the night before vote day
And all through the Dino forum
“Special creatures” were stirring
Because they didn’t get quorum.

They tried and they tried to paint pictures
Of fear.
But sadly they never got lended an ear.

“The mergers and Piché!” One little elf screamed.
“We can merge better!” the other one gleamed.
“We need pros, we need cons & info galore”
Screamed all the little Management whores.

When ALPA sent info, they continually asked.
We all knew those emails went straight to the trash.

After webinars, roadshows and LMMs too,
We all knew what these clowns were trying to do.

“Who paid for these stickers”
“How do they know where we live”
Because of them our poor contract, it leaks like a sieve.

There was an old chairman.
All dressed up in red.
The microphone barely reached the mouth on his head.

“You’re full of shit!” the old leader had said.
While visions of Tony still filled his big head.

The bag tags are hung
The sticker are stuck
We will gladly wear new lanyards
Cause we don’t give a f9ck.

Come Westjet,
Come Jazz,
And even Bearskin too,
We are ALL Canadian pilots standing proudly WITH YOU.

Couldn’t make the words ACPA & f@&$ off and die rhyme but you get the gist.

Happy Vote Day boys and girls.
Let’s make it count & take back this profession.

How have WJ pilots done under ALPA? Jazz? Bearskin.. lol?

Haha... unions are a reflection of their membership. If you took cargo concessions under ACPA during a cargo boom.. why would it be any different with another union?

I mean.. I hope for the best, but as someone with no skin in the game either way, I seriously have my doubts.

Very well. 13.6% increase in contract compensation in CA1 compared to previous WJPA agreement.

Two weeks. However if we vote in favour it doesn’t become effective until the ALPA BOD does the same. The BOD meeting is the last half of May sometime.

This is the company that can and will make a difference. The industry rides on this membership uniting and pushing for change.

Best of luck in the vote all you lads and lasses.

There are still miles to go, but we'll get there together.

only the guys who DONT want ALPA say "well switching to ALPA wont do anything". everyone else knows that it comes down to our MEC and the support the members put in. If we get a 90% yes vote, what kind of support do you think this garners the new MEC? its all about momentum, and ACPA had none.

Shouldn't you be studying your AOM? God knows you're rusty.

Word on the line is that moss has grown thick on you formerly "fully displaced cottage dwellers" ...... semi-retired hanging out in your "work from cottage" ACPA dues furnished offices and high speed remote internet. No one is taking any of you seriously anymore.

Your pettiness and immaturity know no bounds do they?

Maybe you've heard of an ad hominem argument(s)...hopefully you and your snow flake cohort do....because apparently that's all you are capable of.

FYI...never been elected or a volunteer for ACPA...hard to believe eh?

No one takes me seriously ...that's certainly true...but it doesn't take much to get you millenials all riled up and talking out of your @sses.....

Funny how boomers always play the snowflake card as soon as they can. I just read an article about the largest ever study on narcissism that claims boomers are more sensitive than millennials. No surprise coming from the "me" generation, really. Why is every accusation from this group usually a confession?

5 Ways Narcissists Project and Attack You

1. Calling you things that you are not. A classic example, You're cheating on me,when you are not, but you can bet they're cheating on you. ...
2. Grandiosity, mimicking, and exaggeration. ...
3. Preemptive strike. ...
4. Playing the victim. ...
5. The No, you!

I love giving you guys just enough rope to hang yourselves with. You make it easy.

It's so obvious that guys like you (if not you exactly you), have turned our contract into a "concessionary -go nowhere- pile of loosely written trash".

It takes no further retort from me to make you guys look dumb.

FWIW.....Anyone left holding the ACPA torch is going to look like an idiot. Think about that before you talk politics with your FO on a layover.

Still triggered I see. Maybe you should go back to your WhatsApp safe space.

Still hoping are you?....nothing to do with me. Waiting for the miracle that ALPA delivered to WJ, Jazz, and all the others to lift Air Canada pilots to the top quartile of North American airlines.
Think about that before you talk politics with your FO on a layover.

Waiting for the smaller airlines, regional carrier and a LCC to raise A/C wages? You can’t be serious. AC is at the top of the pile for airlines in Canada for fleet size, fleet diversification and destinations. We should be the ones pulling everyone else up. Bragging we make more money than a regional carrier or a LCC is pathetic.

But par for the course from this gang

Luckily they will never have the keys to the car again

Rationalizing their existence by comparing themselves to regionals & Low Cost Carriers is no longer palpable to even the most unengaged & prolific yes voter

The days of demonizing each other is over. Pilots are uniting minus the selfish few that will sling mud safely from the Cottage front porch

First off Kaffee, you slinging "Mom" jokes at a 57 year old (me) is pretty infantile. It tells me a lot about who you are, your age (relative) and your character. You not being a Captain after this long tells me even more.

I'm assuming you are a "long time" widebody FO that hides behind the apron of your Skipper. You don't like responsibility. Why should you be responsible for what has happened to WACON over the last 20 years? Why should you?

My bet is you don't fly with many pilots who are struggling to make ends meet in an expensive base supporting a young family. You don't want the "Company boat rocked" so you can continue to sell of the contract "piecemeal" and reap the benefits at others expense of those junior. You don't have to listen to their stories as yours is the only one that matters. The only story you hear consistently is the one of your Boomer Skippers. Multiple homes in Vancouver or on the Island. How great the last three decades have been for them. You guys are clueless to the struggle going on beneath you. You've been all about protecting the top end. Nothing else exists.

Real professionalism in this career (one that neither you, nor I made), includes leaving it in better shape than when you or I got here. We have watched the decimation of a relatively through contract over the last 20 years. It's a freaking disaster. Both you and I are responsible.

The least we can do is get out of the friggin way while the junior Membership tries to right a ship we were so determined to capsize to benefit anyone but them.
