the "off" season

Post by Northern Skies »

so I finished my first season up north, and I'm looking forward to the next, but for the next 5 or 6 months everything is up in the air! so I wonder what everyone else does this time of year?

personally, I've taken up some work at my old job as a rock climbing instructor, I just signed up at the warplane museum to volunteer in the engineering department to do maintenance under supervision, and I'm trying to say current by "hopefully" getting some charter time at my friendly local flight school...... and renting to take chicks flying.......

so what do you all do in the off season? (other than flying on skis). This is something I bet I can hear some really wild and varied answers, and I'm looking forward to your input.

All the money I didn't spend while I was working in the summer of '04 I spent in the winter of '04 in Asia. Had some good times there for 4 months. The tsunami sucked.

I'm building houses full time during the off-season and getting to know the wife again of course...giddy up. Sunny and 12'C tomorrow with just a hint of wind so we're headin out in the boat off Campbell River to get us some prawns - mmm. When it rains out here it really rains but when it's nice it's really, really nice and you forget about the rainy days/months so we try to take advantage of it.

Asia, great choice, especially Thailand. Do that for a couple months on only a few thousand, then move to Whistler, Banff, or Fernie to shed up the hills. Work out, both the brain and the body. Go flying for the summer... repeat 30 times.

Hard to believe. I wasn't in Ko Phi Phi when the tsunami hit but was there shortly after and there sure wasn't much left.

I'm hanging out in New Zealand which I'd recommend to anyone. Nice and warm, great scenery, lots of work if you're so inclined, gorgeous women everywhere. I'm still looking forward to flying again though.
