If I have my group 3 IFR, can I then schedule an IPC in a multi if I am multi rated and then just get signed off from the IPC and get my group 1?
Or would I have to do a group 1 flight test with a pass/fail(cuz you can’t “fail” an IPC) to get my group 1?
I would already be instrument rated with my group 3, so what would a fail on a group 1 flight test mean? Get it?

Re: Group 3 IFR to Group 1 IFR using IPC
If you hold a Group 3 but want a Group 1, you need to do a flight test in a multi-engine aeroplane -- it's an initial flight test, not an IPC. An IPC can only be applied to keeping your Group 3 current. Failing a Group 1 ride would not affect your Group 3 as long as you meet Group 3 recency requirements.geneticistx wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 9:56 am If I have my group 3 IFR, can I then schedule an IPC in a multi if I am multi rated and then just get signed off from the IPC and get my group 1?
