Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
At present (right now) upgrading will take awhile as there is no upgrade program in the TCM.
Obviously this will get done, but a question of when remains. The current Captains coming in are quite experienced.
The posted chart is for hiring DEC.

I personally know first hand people being hired DEC without either anytime on transport category time or turboprop over 44000 lbs. only light jet time.
Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
Likewise, but what is the breakdown of their overall experience. The chart posted is the internal upgrade matrix for when on property. Initial hires have a different requirement.Blueontop wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 7:43 amCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 3:40 amE13C63AA-D5BA-4060-8DB2-F487B291F123.jpeg

I guess it’s possible. We aren’t unionized so this is all just guidelines really. Also, it could help to know a few people.Blueontop wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 7:43 amCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 3:40 amE13C63AA-D5BA-4060-8DB2-F487B291F123.jpeg

And yes, this is for FOs upgrading to captain. Not outside hires

Every one I've met or flown with that came from business aviation has at least 4500 hours if not plenty more, greater than 1000 hours jet PIC, and significant experience with current and future routing.Blueontop wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 7:43 amCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 3:40 amE13C63AA-D5BA-4060-8DB2-F487B291F123.jpeg

From what I heard, none of the business aviation fellas struggled with adapting to airline life or training.

Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
does this all mean that you can upgrade from E2 FO to E2 captain without jet time?

If you are E2 FO you would have jet time. I don’t understand your question.
Is this capt_z under a different name?

I meant without PIC jet time, in the requirements it says you need 500 pic jet or 1000 pic turbojet…….. if you don’t meet those 2 can your experience on the E2 over see those?

Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
You’d need 3000 TT and 1500 hours on type. See chart above. The bottom line. But yes you can upgrade from E2 FO to E2 captain without jet picBryce55 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 11:52 amCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 11:49 amIf you are E2 FO you would have jet time. Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
I did forget to mention that at the present moment, there isn’t a TC approved upgrade command course for the E2. It is being developed however
Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
Sorry to keep asking you questions. but is it roughly the same idea for Q400 FO to captain in terms of the hours and such.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:17 pm I did forget to mention that at the present moment, there isn’t a TC approved upgrade command course for the E2. Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
These are the requirements to upgrade from q4 FO to captain:
The minimum qualifications to upgrade from Dash 8-400 First Officer to Dash 8-400 Captain are as follows (either Option may be applied):
a) Option A - Minimum 2000h PIC AND 500 hours on type (Dash

b) Option B – 3500 hours total time AND 500 hours on type (Dash

• Minimum 750 PIC; or
• Minimum 500 hours Multi Engine Turbine PIC.
Keep getting those hours. You’re still a ways away from upgrading, including simply writing the ATPLs unless you did integrated course. I wouldn’t worry too much about captain upgrade requirements yet if I were you.

Thank you, and porter doesn't have a PIC program right?CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:53 pmThese are the requirements to upgrade from q4 FO to captain:

Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
You’re worrying about the wrong things at 300 Hrs. Worry about getting the right hours for the ATP, then an upgrade.
300hrs is a long ways off from an upgrade at everyone but Jazz. Yes Porter has PICUS.

is the upgrade program available on E-2
Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
So, does that mean to go from the right seat to the left it’s a full initial program?

Re: E2 new hire F/O command upgrade time?
As of right now the only way to upgrade from the right seat to the left seat on the E2 is to do a full initial. I don't know of anyone who has done that here. My assumption is that upgrades won't happen until an upgrade course has been approved.
I have no idea where they are in that process. I thought it was somewhat on the back burner since we're balls to the wall with initials. I'm in the training department and I haven't hear anything about an upgrade program. I could be wrong though.
