Assuming funds aren’t an issue…
Would it make sense to start training on a 206, or is there benefit to learning on something such as an R44. (Going for Commercial) Once you have completed training, I assume most work would be in turbines. Would having 100 hrs vs 10 hrs be a significant benefit? Or would it be useless cause they do t want a guy with only 100hrs anyways.

save your money and get your license on a R22 or something cheaper and get a 206 endorsement once you get your CHL. my son went this route and it worked out perfectly for him.

Companies don't care what aircraft you got your license on, they will be training you to their standard on their aircraft anyway. It would be wrong to say the first job would be in turbines, it's possible, but not guaranteed. Many tourism and ENG positions for those first jobs use the R44. The 206 is still out there, but the Astar is pretty much now the aircraft used for jobs the 206 always had a good hold on. It would be fine to get the license in R22 or R44 (I would go 44 personally), then use an additional endorsement down the road as means of recurrent training and putting yourself in better standing for that first job.
