For those that have gotten an offer how long did it take you from being eligible?

I have EXACTLY the same timeline as you and am also eligible for both
So you are not the only one waiting and wondering lol, hopefully we hear something soon!
I saw some people getting offers for the fall training and they had much earlier timelines so I kind of figured it will be spring! But who knows...

I'm in the same boat as you, but for YVR. Was hoping to hear something this month but that's the way it goes. Fingers crossed for spring 2024!

There is a bootcamp at YYZ in the coming weeks. Perhaps they will wait until the results of those are out before sending more offers, especially for a course date nearly a year from now.

Offers for IFR Fall 2023 should be going out now or relatively soon. My guess by mid June so you have to time to get your medical done.

Also just because you are eligible doesnt mean you will get offer, keep that in mind.

I think that we are all painfully aware of that fact, but the vibe of this post was hope and optimism and that’s what I will still continue to feel.

There is no need to chime in on a hopeful post with negativity.

We are all terrified, hopeful, desperate to hear something…… Let’s all wish positive thoughts for each other instead

Same boat here, transferred my “Eligible for Offer” application from YYZ to YEG in April no word of any VFR offers yet (IFR went out early may I belive) here’s hoping

I received a standby offer for the Spring 2023 course back in November.

Last Tuesday, I received an offer for a spot in the IFR course in YYZ for Fall 2023. The timing didn’t work out for me, unfortunately, so I had to turn it down, but offers are definitely going out now!

Congrats. You are the second person I've heard to make that class. I am still waiting and wish I asked for VFR as my #1. I asked for either vfr or ifr.

Do you mind sharing your timeline? Was it your first choice?

I did say VFR was my top choice as I had just relocated from Toronto to Windsor so we talked and joked about Windsor tower but they were fairly clear it didn’t matter what my choice was and that I’d be placed where I was most suited.

All that being said I was delighted and surprised I got VFR right out the gate as I have read other people rejecting their initial offer when they are offered their second choice and waiting for their choice so I am very lucky and absolutely thrilled. Fingers crossed for you to join us/get the call soon

It came up in my interview earlier this month. I don't know about any other FIRs, just Toronto (I believe all training is held at the Toronto Area Control Centre for the Toronto FIR)

Ah interesting. Back when I did my interview (Feb) they told us that FIC course is offered once a year nationally and its location changes each year. I also recently contacted Nav Canada and they told me that there is a FIC course happening in London this October. So I don't know things don't add up...

It took me nearly 4 years from applying to getting an offer so don't give up! You can still get an offer

Haha I didn't really wait it out honestly. I applied and lived my life as if this never existed, got a job in a different field etc. I think that's the best way to do it rather than putting your life on hold.

I can’t imagine the frustration I had several breakdowns over my time in the application process lol, it’s the not knowing that is the absolute killer.

But I agree with what was said above, I literally went back to school and started a whole new career and as soon as I graduated I got the email to start interviewing! So you just gotta live your life, and keep it in the back of your mind and hope for the best very hard to do when you really want something I know…

Someone else in this forum was offered the course I am in over a month before me and they were just told it changed from Dec to Nov so honestly there’s so many things at play!
