Hiring process estimated time
Hi,
Can anyone give me a feedback about the current hiring timeline and estimated waiting times between each step?
I sent my application a few weeks ago and no news (ATPL, 2600+ TT, 2000 pic time, 80% fast jets and 20% wide body). I perhaps don't reach the current requirements to be called for an interview.
Cheers.

if you're not JAZZ, it could be fast... Some have everything completed since january without a call ( or a PFO )josejimenes33 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 2:52 pm Hi,

Re: Hiring process estimated time
It seems to depend on so many things that there is no consistent answer. The last time they contacted me was around 6 months after I'd updated my profile. At the time I had twice your experience, but that also doesn't really seem to factor into the outcome. Out of the blue they emailed me an interview invite with no associated phone call, so make sure you check your junk mail folder regularly. I firmly believe they get a perverse pleasure in moving the goal posts, and keeping the industry guessing.

Seems odd that you wanna leave Flair, the gold standard of airlines. Why would anybody want to leave Flair for AC?co-joe wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 3:12 pm It seems to depend on so many things that there is no consistent answer. I don't, hence my experience being in the past tense. Anyone who wants to leave for AC, I wish them every success in life. I have no problem working for the farm team for the rest of my career. I'm sure lots of the youngins I fly with will move there, although we seem to have a lot of people more motivated by being home every night, quick upgrades, and decent money, than metal chasers, but I'm sure we'll lose a few, especially if ALPA manages to eliminate flat pay.maverick12 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:31 pmSeems odd that you wanna leave Flair, the gold standard of airlines. Yes, I get a confirmation as soon as my application was complete. But no news since.Kingair200 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 12:45 am do you still receive the confirmation after the application submission?

Re: Hiring process estimated time
PFO= Please F@#k Off, commonly used for receiving a letter stating thanks for applying and good luck on your future endeavours
Re: Hiring process estimated time
When you say confirmation, are you referring to an email? I submitted my application through the website (which changed since last year) and never received a confirmation email after submission. Is this normal?josejimenes33 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 5:44 amYes, I get a confirmation as soon as my application was complete. Guessing it's the normal process.
Still nothing back from AC. I've heard that there is a point system (like the immigration one) doing a kind of pre screening considering the global candidate profile (TT, 705 operations, military, glasscockpit, bilingual etc...)?

Pretty new on the 705 forum section, realized there is a dedicated thread. Switching on the AC OTS thread.

The application received email is automatically generated and comes from Communication@talentacquisition.aircanada.ca

2000TT,250 jet here (B737)
I applied in May and got the invite 2.5 weeks later. Did the interview last week and they said the current wait time to hear back is 10-12 weeks (Big yikes!!!) I don’t know why it’s that long but it is.

Re: Hiring process estimated time
They probably do the same thing I do during announcements. Namely, if I am certain the delay will be no more than 15 minutes, I tell the folks it’ll be half an hour. That way, when we push 16 minutes later, instead of being a minute late, we are 14 minutes early.vanislepilot wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:48 am Did the interview last week and they said the current wait time to hear back is 10-12 weeks (Big yikes!!!) Realistically though, once you are on “the list” it becomes a matter of where to put you. There are about 20 steps between where you are right now and filling the 700 or so vacancies on the last equipment bid. It’s all a balance in coordination with PIT courses, simulator, line Indoc then checking. Setting you free …. restricted, then unrestricted.
Every step is labour intensive and things slow down across the summer as everyone with a pulse and a valid license is strapped to an airplane.

Do you have a degree or aviation diploma?vanislepilot wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:48 am 2000TT,250 jet here (B737)

For those of you worrying about receiving that confirmation email, don’t stress. It happened to me and I thought the issue was on my side but it wasn’t. I never got a confirmation email and I was invited for an interview a month later after submitting my application.
