You may not be aware of this, but pilots don't decide what gets played in the back. I know, I'm just as shocked as you about that. You may want to take your concerns with a different department of whichever airline you're complaining about. I'm confident they will much more receptive to your complaints and suggestions.

Oh btw, the comment about playing whatever it is thats annoying you ,which I imagine at your age is just about everything. I recommend you suggest that to the airline when you speak to them. Remember, us pilots are not the decision makers in the area. Please get back to me and let me know what they say.

I emailed the CEO, I told him three guys complained on Avcanada about the ads after the safety demo, he told me they will be removed forthwith!
However the lost revenue will be recouped from higher ticket prices, you happy now? What am I saying, you’re never happy, never a positive post from you!

I’m not upset about the ads, really don’t care, I don’t have an ad blocker either but to say the ads are only to keep it going seems a little disingenuous.
How much does it cost when you have volunteers moderating or do the moderators get paid?
I believe the ads are for profit and is no longer a website for Avcanadians, just another for profit revenue generator, which I don’t begrudge anyone trying to make a few bucks.
If you want support, you would have to be upfront about cost and the break even, not profit, donations to a non charity are pretty hard to drum up

I will that up to our host but running the forum with volunteers is not a cost item, hosting and paying for the internet offering is. I know of one aviation forum in Canada where the host says it costs him around $1000.00 a year to do so in direct costs.
