Ask Air Canada HR. They will give the best answer.
Back when I started at Jazz, the same day I was drawing my seniority number I received an email from AC HR with dates for an interview. I responded that I was hired at Jazz three days ago and not sure if that changes anything, they responded that it changes everything, to update my resume and they will call me when my seniority number comes up.
Back then we had something similar to a flow, it was a LOU and I believe we carried over two years for pay and vacation but regardless it changed everything, I lost my spot for OTS interview and that was for the sake of three days so I think I know the answer they will give.
My question is how invested is crystalpizza, recent hire, I would roll the dice and go make more money and do the interview again if need be. Been here a while, wait it out.
You cannot have your feet in two boats at the same time.
My guess is your status is based on whether you are on Jazz payroll on the date of the OFFER. If your offer is related to Jazz flow, Jazz gets notified. Imagine what will happen if Jazz informs AC that you are no longer working at Jazz?
Because of the less than predictable administration of the flow agreement, pilots are having to make tough decisions with limited information. If you are in the top 150 waiting to go, tough to give it up. Beyond that, perhaps an OTS application from Porter, Morningstar, Flair, Cargojet might be a faster route. It is all speculative.
One year anniversary at Jazz this month. Wondering if anyone has left Jazz recently and gotten into AC ots ahead of their Jazz seniority. Haven’t started the interview process as a Jazz candidate yet.

Has anyone ever left Jazz (to anywhere other than AC) AFTER completing the entire hiring process as a Jazz pilot, but BEFORE receiving the final offer of employment from AC? In this case do you get to keep your application to AC as is and continue waiting as you would otherwise, or do you forfeit and have to start from scratch OTS?
Ah, the old I want my cake and eat it too!
I 100% guarantee you will lose your spot, the flow is based on Jazz seniority, without that you are OTS.
Now, would they count your successful interview and put you in as OTS, maybe even ahead of where you would fit in the Jazz seniority, who knows. I’m not sure I would risk it but you need to do what works for you.
Can I ask how long you’ve been at Jazz?
5 years this year, applied to AC last month but wasn’t sure how long it’ll take before they call. If I’m looking at a 6 month wait I’d definitely consider going elsewhere.

Thanks everyone for the responses!
If you've been at Jazz for 5 years you're quite literally the top of the top when it comes to seniority for flow. You'd be crazy to go elsewhere if all you're waiting for is the final call of a job offer. Don't do things in haste, you're like 95% of the way there.

Not so crazy,
They haven’t officially said anything but it appears AC stopping taking Jazz pilots already, hopefully for just the summer but they have a bad track record of taking Jazz pilots all together.
Word of mouth may be different from reality but relatively senior pilots 6-10 YOS have mentioned they applied recently. People are more pretty fed up. They once said never but they are starting to reconsider. I personally know a few. They will go to the front of the line, it could still take years if that’s the case. Better off OTS
Better to be last on the life raft then down with the ship.

The point I'm making, is even IF they wait until the fall to start taking Jazz pilots again (which I don't think will be the case seeing how absolutely f'd we are right now for crews and Flair/Encore etc can't fill all the holes), you'd have to have everything fall in place OTS. Get hired, trained quickly (most places are pretty slow ATM) then get your 737 type rating or whatever. Then apply to AC, go through the whole process again. 6 months minimum IMO.
If the OP has already done all the steps and is just waiting for a phone call, I think they'd be dumb to leave. Now if they haven't done anything yet like the interview etc, then perhaps that's a different story.
Those individuals only go to the front of the line for the portal they applied in. If OP applied at the last portal, they will be ahead of the more Sr pack who just applied.

They won’t be ahead if there is no hiring for an extended period. Instead their resume will be buried below more senior pilots. It already happened when the portal reopened in January, and it will happen again and again, as pilots to continue to chase the carrot while offering cheap labour to Air Canada through Jazz.

Can I ask how long it took you to finish flight school, get hired by jazz and then by Air canada? I'm in highschool right now and I'm trying to figure out the fastest and more efficient path. Where did you go to school?

Slowdown and enjoy the scenery. This industry is unpredictable. Enjoy the ride.

Yes enjoy the ride... you may not go where you want to go, but you'll end up where you want to be!

June 14th class has no Jazz pilot in the GS
Up until that point.
Sept gs has been mentioned by many, however don’t believe anything Air Canada says until it’s actually on paper. Just ask all the jazz pilots that were told 2 months and have waited almost 6 months for still no response.
There's money to be made in the industry right now & it's not at Jazz. The question is - what do you give up, $$ now at a place like Westjet/Transat or seniority & $$ for the rest of your career at AC?
