Wow, that must be nice. Jazz candidates have been waiting 4 months since background check. Probably will wait a lot longer.Latitude wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 9:31 amFor me it was background check, then one week went by (they called references during that week) then the next week I got the call. So from background check to get the call was around 2 weeks.SkyBagPiper wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 6:51 pm How many classes per month can we expect? As summer is approaching, do they freeze classes until the fall?
Just got the background check last week. Interviewed mid February. Medical 1 week later. So technically anything from 2 weeks to a month I assume to hear back after the background check is complete?
How long until you hear back from AC?

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Interviewed in 3rd week of Feb 2023, still no updates. How long until expected to hear back? Anyone got call for ground school in May?Thanks
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
You can just login to your TC account and print it out for the interview, you don't have to go to TC
LongHaul89 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 21, 2023 5:28 pm One suggestion I can make is, after your interview go directly to the TC office and get your flight test results from them and email them to AC, this will speed up you application.

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
You get travel benefits on AC and select airline jumpseat privileges right away. During training, you book confirmed flights on AC which are zero cost to you between your home domicile and YYZ if you choose. After 6 months you get access to MyID travel for yourself, travel partner and parents.Captain101 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 26, 2023 6:15 pm I was going through the forums to find updated info on AC staff travel benefits for Pilots. Couldn't find much recent info. Can someone at AC please share what the staff travel benefits are like for Pilots. Does staff travel or jumpseat benefits start on Day 1 or do you have to wait 3 or 6 months from date of hire. I am under the impression you get unlimited standby travel on AC for spouse, kids and parents, is that true? Also what are the interline partners that AC pilots can get standby travel on for spouse, kids and parents? (For example Lufthansa, Emirates etc..) I know that AC pilots can jumpseat on Porter, can they also jumpseat on other North American airlines like WestJet, Air Transat, United etc...
Thank you in advance for any info!
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Updated my resume mid May 2023, got a email for interview end of May, interview and medical scheduled for Mid-June. Told to wait 8 weeks during the interview
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Thanks for sharing! May I ask you what your TT is and current type you are flying? Degree or Diploma?
Thank you in advance.
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
2100TT 1400h turboprop and 705 jet time. Dash 8 and E-jets type rated, Diploma but non-aviation

Air Canada is insane. You have a pile of guys at jazz with well over 4000 hrs, atpl, even 705 pic at jazz being put behind candidates just meeting minimum requirements.

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
It's really not insane at all when you add business context. If AC takes too many pilots from Jazz then they lose the less expensive low capacity air lift. It makes business sense to keep Jazz operating as much as possible for the feeder routes that are not feasible to be flown on anything A220 or larger.canadian_aviator_4 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 2:39 pm Air Canada is insane. Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
From a safety point of view it is strange. But AC does at it pleases and at the end of the day any pilot at jazz and AC are just a number.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 3:25 pmIt's really not insane at all when you add business context. Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Sure, it’s a good business decision, for the AC board of directors… But what about flow agreements and everyone else getting screwed over by seniority. Where does it end?dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sat Jun 24, 2023 3:25 pmIt's really not insane at all when you add business context. Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Calls going out for the July 17 GS
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
I have received the background check, anyone know what's the timeline like after background check?
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
It's not only depending on the total hours but the quality of your total hours. A person with 5000TT but 4500 instructing with 500 703/704 turboprop vs a person with 2500TT but 2000hr of 705 turbine time. I don't know about you, but I will pick the person with lower hour but more 705 jet time. Also, AC's minimum is at 2000hr for years now, you can apply at 2000hr

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Did you read what was said, a Jazz pilot with over 4000 hours is almost certainly a 705 Captain and would be a better fit fit than a 2000 medevac king air Captain.smooth wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:24 am It's not only depending on the total hours but the quality of your total hours. If the rumour is true, AC sending out September gs dates to 120 Jazz pilots, those pilots would most likely stay through summer, which might also prevent some others waiting from rolling the dice elsewhere
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
My point was, why people wait until 4000+ hours to apply AC when you can apply at 2000hr? And then compliant when people who have lower hours getting the interview sooner than you(god knows how AC HR works?). Jazz pilots got stuck for the summer, not getting 60% flow, etc...it isn't fair, but do jazz pilots or alpa doing anything to improve things?

People didn’t wait until 4000 to apply. I’m sure they applied prior to this point. It’s the industry that has changed.smooth wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 9:30 pm My point was, why people wait until 4000+ hours to apply AC when you can apply at 2000hr? In 2002, you needed basically 6000 to fly a Navajo in northern Manitoba. It’s a market, flight times are just a stock price
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Had my references called yesterday, and my reference been told after reference call, application gets transfer back to yyz. And it's another 2-3 weeks wait. Anyone about the same?

My references were contacted on a Thursday and by Friday evening the next day I got the call. It shouldn’t take that long
