Been said during the interview that the current waiting time is close to 8 weeks.
But who knows if this timeline can be shortened. Or the opposite...

Air Canada don't need you to make your RAIC appointment. On the first week of PIT, AC will have group appointment made for YYZ pass office. Brining everyone in at once for their red passes.

Training pay starts when training starts. “Home Study” through the training apps is monitored, acknowledged, tested and stored …. and is regarded by Transport Canada as approved training.

You will receive direction on how to accomplish this training. It is required and you are paid.

Once you are on the line you will encounter this from time to time. Some recurrent training is performed at home. Normally, it is paid time.

Nice! They just told I had to have the FOM read by the first day of PIT. Plus a mountain of HR paperwork. The RAIC application took a long time too but I imagine most people already have that.

It left a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn't paid for all that.

I don’t think any airlines pays for the RAIC application time or HR paperwork, but I may be wrong. I’ve had to wait countless hours at Yyz pass office completely unpaid.

I would imagine that if the Corp. said “after conducting the background check, we decided not to hire you….” That might lead to complications, i.e. lawsuits, with conducting background checks.
