Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Been said during the interview that the current waiting time is close to 8 weeks.
But who knows if this timeline can be shortened. Or the opposite...

Air Canada don't need you to make your RAIC appointment. On the first week of PIT, AC will have group appointment made for YYZ pass office. Brining everyone in at once for their red passes.
CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:14 amI don’t think any airlines pays for the RAIC application time or HR paperwork, but I may be wrong. I’ve had to wait countless hours at Yyz pass office completely unpaid.FL030 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 11:50 amNice! They just told I had to have the FOM read by the first day of PIT. Plus a mountain of HR paperwork. The RAIC application took a long time too but I imagine most people already have that.Crewbunk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 7:59 am Training pay starts when training starts. “Home Study” through the training apps is monitored, acknowledged, tested and stored …. and is regarded by Transport Canada as approved training.
You will receive direction on how to accomplish this training. It is required and you are paid.
Once you are on the line you will encounter this from time to time. Some recurrent training is performed at home. Normally, it is paid time.
It left a bad taste in my mouth that I wasn't paid for all that.

Who actually pays you for HR onboarding? HR needs that done to pay you lol. Also, at AC my hire and pay date was 3 or 4 days prior to PIT when I had to do my 'self study' etc. So yes, that is paid.FL030 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 11:50 amNice! That's exactly what I have in mind. Perhaps, you should ask if coming to a job interview is being paid?

Anyone did the interview around mid July and still waiting to hear back? GS and Ref checked within 10days from the interview.
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
Did the interview early AUG. Background and reference check was done within 10 days after interview. Nothing since

Then seven weeks after the background check, you get an email saying "you were unsuccessful in the interview."

Would they go to the trouble of doing the check if you'd been unsuccessful in the interview? Then seven weeks after the background check, you get an email saying "you were unsuccessful in the interview."
Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
I would imagine that if the Corp. said “after conducting the background check, we decided not to hire you….” That might lead to complications, i.e. lawsuits, with conducting background checks.

Hello,
Thank you for your recent application to the position of Pilot at Air Canada. Our hiring board has determined that you did not successfully pass our interview and as such, we will be contacting you to schedule a second interview (with the possibility of a secondary psychological evaluation and/or secondary pre-employment medical) when we are able to do so.
We appreciate the time you took to meet with us and thank you for your interest in working at Air Canada. We look forward to meeting with you again in the near future.
Sincerely,
Air Canada Pilot Recruitment Team
Too desperate to send a full pfo yet arrogant enough to not even address the candidates in the letter. This came 10 weeks post interview.
Has anyone actually heard back for a second interview?

Re: How long until you hear back from AC?
I got a PFO and never reapply email. Then they called me a year later for another interview.
