You can obviously tell where Chorus' focus is. It's not Jazz.

Jazz does not make Chrous money on the CPA, the aircraft are mostly Chorus owned and the lease revenue associated, they are focused on growing Falko but a loss of Jazz will be a massive loss in revenue for Chorus, so they won’t just let it die.Little Star wrote: ↑Tue Aug 08, 2023 7:21 am You can obviously tell where Chorus' focus is. That’s what I tell myself so I can sleep at night!
I realize that Jazz pilots are significantly behind and we signed a long term agreement, the sentiment at the time was if Jazz had recruitment problems they would have to fix it, that is one of the reasons I voted yes, I figured let them make their bed.
So, fast forward, their bed must be very uncomfortable but they are still hopeful a recession saves them from a situation of their own making, truly sad.
To be clear, we gave up making any gains in order to repatriate the regional flying the was being farmed out to the lowest bidder, if we could have predicted this current environment, there is no way it would’ve passed, AC pilots would not have signed a 10 year deal either.
I first heard about the “shortage of pilots” over 30 years ago now, so not hard to imagine it wasn’t ever going to materialize, especially since at the time of our agreement, US regionals were paying pilots 24,000/yr and they were lining up for the job.
I don’t know what the future holds for Jazz and I have to believe they will do something to save it but I do have to force myself to believe that, it’s easy to go dark in these times.
I’ll also add, right now we are still hiring some pilots with experience, by that I mean 2-3000 hours, mostly 750 instructors but a few with time. Until the barrel is scraped completely clean, the path with be the same, hope for a recession.
Stop applying at Jazz, it will either sink us or fix us but if pilots keep applying nothing will change.
