TC, what a joke

Okay so I am in the middle of a move. I call up TC to change my address, like I have done all the other times when I moved. The lady on the phone in her perfect billingual accent tells me to fax the request in. I tell I don't have a fax machine and if she would simply take my information it will make it easier for everyone. She says no, TC has a new policy and that I will have to submit that request in writing with a signature.

WTF?

Last time I changed my address I used their online service. After that I stopped getting admendments for my AIP. I call up TC to ask what happened. The guy I spoke to told me that sometimes the information gets lost. As a matter of fact, what happened was that my postal code was changed but the old address was retained. So all my TC stuff kept getting returned to sender.

So now why do you think I want to call and ensure that as I am talking to someone they will be keying the info into a computer.

TC always fuc%s up my address even when it stays the same... I think they have somone whose job it is to change unnecessarily and purposely mess up everyones address just cause its a TC thing to do.

that's right, now they can hire a consulting firm and pay them 1/4 mill. to find out what the problem is.

I thought it was just ME. I change my address three times in the last 5 years and they did not get it right once. I had to follow it up with a phone call, or two every time.

I guess if you send a fax or letter and they loose it then they can claim it was your fault, because they received nothing. It you call and they mess it up, then they may have to accept some small amount of blame. Kind of like Keystone suing them for not shutting them down because TC knew they were rule breakers. By not taking a address change over the phone they can stop pesky litigation like that.

I guess I should post that I finally has success. I called a different office and they took it right over the phone. Keyed it in as we were talking. The guy even checked to see if I had received the AIM yet. I wonder if I just called too early on a Monday monring to exact any change?

I moved this summer, and changed my address online about a month before. Hadn't received anything in the mail since then from TC, and haven't received my AIM yet, so I went online yesterday and did the address change thing again. So my phone rings this morning and it was a woman from TC who said "You changed your address yesterday. We already have this address, but it's probably because you haven't received your AIM, right?" Needless to say I was quite surprised. Anyhow, she told me that I submitted my email address to receive the online updates, and everyone who did that got somehow missed on the physical snail-mailing list. They are rectifying that problem this week, apparently.

I received the same call as chipmunk and for the same reason... So, hopefully in the next two weeks I'll get the AIM in the mail as well.

Every time I have moved they screw up my address, changing the postal code but not the address is the most common mistake. This last time I didn't bother to change it and then a few weeks ago I get a medical in the mail with the new address and the next week my AIM. But I hadn't even changed my drivers licence yet and am a little freaked out on how TC got my new address.
