If we are given an offer, can we postpone accepting the offer, and wait for a later ground school, if we do not get the base that we want?

I don't know the answer to that but I could venture one. I doubt they would accept postponing per se, maybe it can be arranged but I doubt they would guarantee that.

Commuting is very doable, obviously depends where you live but I'd say it's a good idea to get in when you have the chance and have your standing bid reflect your desired base, you get seniority and experience. Not a bad thing to have.

We have many piltos that successfully make commuting work. It's not as easy as an airline that has multi-day pairings, but it's no worse than commuting as a new AC pilot on reserve and plenty of piltos do that too.

Our CBA is in place until 2025. At the current time, there is no intention of opening that early.
