Several posters including on AC forum, are using 233%.

The AC CEO actually had almost 300% raise, not 233%.
"received total compensation of $12.4 million in 2022, compared with $3.7 million in 2021, according to regulatory documents released by the airline.

CEO example.
Pilots can get 300%.
They did it in the US last year, 300% up for pilots.

2021 numbers are not a useful metric. What was the AC CEO’s compensation in 2019?

Point, the CEO was able to increase by 300% in one year.

Don't forget when AC managers tried to take bonuses in Covid after a government bailout loan

"After outcry, Air Canada says its top executives giving back bonuses

"Majority of the $10 million bonus program, held by middle managers, not returned

"In April, Air Canada and the federal government agreed to a $5.9 billion loan package that includes money to help refund passenger tickets, but also capped executive compensation at $1 million until 12 months after the loan is fully repaid.

"The politicians that criticize this simply don't understand that this is a very competitive market," he said.

"Here we are right next door to who? The largest economy on planet Earth. And if we go and start mucking about and legislating salaries or returns of these executives ... we will lose them to the United States. It's going to facilitate and encourage brain drain."

If you don't think a regional pilot can triple their salaries in one year, take a look at MESA's pay scale (USD).
They went from $36/hour to $100/hr september 2022.

$100/hr USD is $134/hr CAD.

No Canadian pilot, especially ALPA, should be flying a Dash8, ATR, SAAB, RJ or light jet for less than $120k CAD a year.
Same for 737 or bigger operators.

It's ok to triple your salary in one year

The rates for RJ captain at MESA Lowest rate is $US 153/hour or $206 Canadian per hour.

MESA & Horizon pay scales were posted

My 6 paragraph addition to this thread was too abrasive. I'm a little too pi$$ed off at how Canadians are being catagorised as a "lesser pilot group", less deserving.

I decided I didn't want to spend time in a Managers office, so I deleted it.
