Re: Interview
If WestJet is placing people in a hiring pool now does that mean they are only taking people with more experience and people in the pool won't get the job? Or is there a backlog in training and they are waiting for a ground school opening?

I think it's the first one.aboveclouds wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 9:40 am If WestJet is placing people in a hiring pool now does that mean they are only taking people with more experience and people in the pool won't get the job? Anyone have some more details on it?
Re: Interview
Having a look at the WestJet roadshows they are looking for a decent number of pilots in the foreseeable future.

Re: Interview
Good afternoon fellow aviators I'm new here and been following the latest growth and changes around us as I'm planning on taking a leap for the westjet application. I noticed that the interview IF and it may be a big "IF" I get called it's a 90 min interview but I was wondering what does the psychometric portion entail??
If someone could kindly elaborate on that, perhaps a suggestion for study or reference material etc etc i would highly appreciate it>> either way I understand if isn't appropriate to publicly share here please free to dm. (Just not sure if the site will let me read it, since I just registered) safe flight thnx

in.
The posted requirements are what they need. That being said, a guy/gal with a good personality is what they want.
Remember to be yourself on your interview, and you’ll be fine.

Interview
Sent an application in 2 weeks ago, over 5000tt with 1000pic 705 time I got an email with interview date but seems I have to complete a online psychometric test in a few days. I've been searching for any information or reference material any past or present candidates care to shed some light in this? Is this part of the 90mins interview that everyone did or is this a whole new portion.

Re: Interview
It’s a psych exam. It’s like 300 questions. Answer truthfully. Don’t try and cheat it. It’s not a big deal.Flydaplane wrote: ↑Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:43 pm Sent an application in 2 weeks ago, over 5000tt with 1000pic 705 time I got an email with interview date but seems I have to complete a online psychometric test in a few days. Re: Interview
You will be asked to complete five brief aptitude tests, along with a work related behaviour questionnaire prior to attending your interview. The tests measure different aptitudes such as spatial awareness, reaction time, monitoring ability and multi tasking. In one particular test you are required to fly a simulation device with your keyboard. The objective is to fly through a tunnel without hitting any obstacles. It seems to be measuring both speed and accuracy. None of them are incredibly difficult, and there really isn’t any way to prepare for them. Your best bet would be find a quiet location where you won’t be interrupted, and make sure that you are feeling rested. If you really want to get into the right mindset beforehand, maybe try playing some Lumosity games for a while. But it’s really not that big of a deal and you’ll probably be fine. Best of luck!

Re: Interview
First off thank you for taking the time to respond, it speaks volumes on character as well us actually providing useful advice where potential candidates have some doubts. Should this added hurdle and the interview process get some of the candidates thru I'm sure we all are appreciative and some day look forward to flying with you.
