FSS Salary

Post by PNG2005 »

Hi there, I was wondering if anybody here's who's an FSS would able to give some info? I currently have an FSS standby position, and was hoping someone would be able to fill me in on the total salary of an FSS. There's the pay that's on the collective bargaining agreement, but I was curious if thats the total pay or if there's any extra benefits people receive on top of that salary.

Thanks.

Our current collective agreement expired in April and with the new one we should be getting a slight bump.

Your salary also depends on which site you get sent to after basic training: most likely an FSS-B site. That number is the basic salary, not including overtime, premiums for hours worked outside of I believe 8am-5pm or something like that and weekend premiums. So all in all you could expect an extra 15-30k depending on how much overtime you'd end up working.
Which FIR for the FSS standby seat?

Many sites in the YEG FIR are B level. The base pay does not include evening/weekend premiums or overtime. I would say the 15-30k extra another commenter posted is accurate. If you get a northern posting the pay is significantly more than the baseline due to a few extra incentives. Well into 6 figures.
