Drug / Alcohol Screening Test

Hello

I have a Drug / Alcohol Screening Test coming up with a major carrier soon and just wondering if anyone knows the specifics from experience .

I don't do and never have done any drugs ( legal or illegal ) whatsoever but sure like to go out with friends end of the week and have a couple pints .

Just curious if anyone has info first hand . .... Just pee in a cup or blood samples ??

Hate to come this far and they detect my couple of pints from a week ago .

You pee in a cup for drugs and blow in a breathalyzer for booze.

Don't drink the day before you go, and you're fine.

They look at gamma glutamyl transferase. It's an enzyme related to liver degradation. Not drinking for a few days prior won't change that.

Interesting, I didn't know that. So what would a positive result mean then...that you have liver damage? Would heavy drinking over a few days cause that, or would it need to be sustained over a longer period? I guess my question should be, how much drinking causes liver degradation? Lol, I'm not a heavy drinker if anyone is wondering Just curious.

I knew a guy who did that liver test for an overseas gig on a -8 maintenance side. Failed so never got hired.

A GGT test in absense of other enzyme tests (ALT, AST etc) would not be used to diagnose liver damage.
For the OP, if you're refering to WestJet it'll just be a pee in a cup to test for drugs and alchohol. Only AC do blood tests, and I have no idea what else they're looking for there.
