Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Recorded message on Transport Canada Medical phone line states outright that they are experiencing higher than normal delays in medical certificate issuances due to extra testing required. I wonder why that is....

Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Aging pilot population leading to an increase in more complex medicals?
Shortage of Transport Canada Doctors to process/ok medicals?
Increase in initial medicals, with more processing time needed?
Lots of possible reasons other than your tired old wolf-crying ‘Covid’!

I didn’t state why. It’s only a data point. There are lots of reasons why as you pointed out. Question is why all of a sudden and not progressively with staff to adjust to a forecasted increase? Ask the questions and look for the answers.mmm...bacon wrote: ↑Tue Feb 06, 2024 1:13 pm Aging pilot population leading to an increase in more complex medicals?

You mean reasons like a cross country shortage in physicians for every Canadian thanks to the last of the baby boomers reaching retirement age?
If one is only working with a high school biology class education, they should be asking the questions and then simply listening to the answers as should anyone who lacks the requisite education, experience and mental capacity to do more than that.

How absurd. Don't question anything unless you have the requisite education or experience? My lord.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Maybe there’s more heart problems popping up on ECGs lately. Possibly due to climate change?

Or you could just use your high school science class education, "muh critical thinkin" and the intraweb to come up with a valid counterpoint.

Depends which news sites you trust. I tend not to trust the mainstream or state funded media after all their lies but you believe in whatever they want you to believe in.kgb531 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 9:54 am Apparently not.

If you have a problem with Reuters, the problem is not the source.

I'm not referring to the question presented: "Why is more testing required to maintain aviation medicals?" That's a fair question, which I don't have the answer. However, it is deserving of further investigation. Possibly an aging population, increased medical standards, poorer health due to lifestyle decisions, long-covid or vaccine injury? I don't know, and honestly, I don't care enough to pursue it, but I do find it compelling.
I was referring to your absurd and simplistic view of asking questions and the pursuit of knowledge. It's borderline Orwellian.

Please provide the medical phone line number where you heard this recorded message so we can all verify whether this is true and the exact wording that was used.

Guys, this is a self audit, not an independent audit. OF COURSE, Reuters gonna toot their own horn, their lawyers told them to for self preservation. When y'all gonna see the conspiracy? They are lying right in front of your face. So Gullible.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Reuters backchecks all of their articles.
That means the article authors confirm the authenticity of the sources and their source's sources.
That's something not done by solely, internet-based entertainment news websites for the gullible. Similar to Foxnews, Newsmax, OAN and Rebel/TNC also does not do thorough backgrounding.

It doesn't matter how wrong it might be, THEY say it's right. Opinion. Just like doctors, lawyers, you Chief pilot or Ops manager, or YOU. (or me for that matter)kgb531 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 1:45 pm Reuters backchecks all of their articles.

I was only ever wrong once, and that's when I thought I might have been!
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Maybe you were wrong when you quit your well paying airline job rather than get vaccinated.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Many have regretted taking it. NOBODY regretted not taking it.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
I think Michael Freedy’s family would disagree with you.

Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
I'd like to hear that message too.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
To be clear, nobody "quit" their well-paying airline jobs. They were either fired or forced into unpaid leave.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
I'm sorry to hear about Freedy. Make no mistake. Covid IS a bioweapon, carefully unleashed to look random. But it was created to give the reason to roll out an mRNA untested vax on the mass world population to maximize profit for the pharm companies normally considered illegal.
Let that sink in. What I just stated here is a conspiracy AND it DID happen, undeniably. There is no theory.
Again. Let that sink in.
Now stop fighting me and your cognitive dissonance and start fighting the perps. Get involved.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Actually, I think it's probably for the best that Jerry isn't flying an airliner any more.
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
Did you know even the Davos club members don’t want vax pilots flying them? I wonder why that is…
Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
That one I was able to debunk in literally 1 second of googling.

Re: Aviation medicals are requiring extra testing
I just read a fascinating book called 'The Psychology of Totalitrisim,' by Mattias Desmet, professor of clinical psychology and psychoanalytic psychotherapist. He's the world's leading expert on a phenomenon called 'mass formation psychosis."
Mass formation psychosis is a very complicated and nuanced condition, beginning from loneliness, lack of meaning, isolation, free-floating anxiety, and fear, then spurred on by a critical crisis narrative. Enter "group think" and the demoralization of anyone who dares defy or question the approved narrative. Sound familiar?
Mass formation can be credited for the rise of such amazing times in our history like Nazism and Stalinism.
While Mattias describes the psychological conditions that lead to the dangerous rise of totalitarianism, he does explore the extremes that occur on the other side, like absurd conspiracy theories. No doubt we've seen our share of unreasonable theories, but make no mistake, it's not the conspiracy theorists that we have to worry about.
Another good read, if you're interested, is "Ordinary Men: Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland," by Christopher Browning. Once again, it's not the conspiracy theorists that we should worry about, but the so-called "ordinary men," who believe they're fighting for the greater good.
