Current hiring experience?
Hello Transat! Wondering what the current hiring experience in recent ground schools has been like? Are you looking for ATPLs? Furthermore, what’s the approximate timeline one can expect from application to ground school? Thanks in advance!
Re: Current hiring experience?
Their website shows there is an opening for FO position for Dorval, QC. Does that mean they are hiring only for Dorval base right now?

Hiring in both bases for now. The last bind shows about 70 positions open with 24 in YUL.

Do they have YYZ base currently available?TFTMB heavy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 11, 2024 3:19 pmHiring in both bases for now. The last bind shows about 70 positions open with 24 in YUL.
Re: Current hiring experience?
Do pilots with 705 Jet experience get some sort of seniority in ground school..? Extra pay incentive..? Or same old song and dance..?
Re: Current hiring experience?
To attribute your senority in your gs there is a point system based on your hrs depending of the mtow of aiplaines you've flown and position.
From what I know there is no extra pay incentive
Re: Current hiring experience?
AT is rapidly falling behind among the interim raises provided by others.
Only AC is left with the archaic scales, and that's moot as they'll be gone in the coming months, leaving only AT at the distant bottom.
I don't know if AT can afford to sit and wait over a year to correct the wages, the applications are going to dry up in the meantime, and they could be parking planes. Hopefully, for the good of the pilots and the business, they do an interim adjustment.
Then, when renots come along they'll have to bump 40% to keep people on the seats.
Best of luck to all.

They don't fly to YVR, so I doubt it.
On the other hand, Encore doesn't fly to YYZ and still has a YYZ base.
Re: Current hiring experience?
Are there any updates on recent hiring ? If it is still going on, what are the average hour hires on initial ground school ?
What are the hour requirements ? No mention of hours on company site for the FO posting.

4 per month. The minimum is 1500 hrs but with such a low number of pilots per GS they would likely hire the most experienced ones.
Re: Current hiring experience?
Only 4/Month? I Agree that there will definitely be some competition with that conservative of a number.

No real hour requirements; some hired low time without an ATPL. The mindset: quality (in different aspects) over quantity.
