C-FTXK, a Canadair CL-215 operated by the Service Aérien Gouvernemental du Québec, with
its onboard 2 flight crew members were conducting a forest fire combat flight according to the
visual flight rules to and from Roberval, QC (CYRJ). During the second drop on
a fire located under a Hydro-Quebec high-voltage power transmission line near Mount
Wright, the aircraft suffered a loss of altitude and the open drop doors touched the cable
top of the line. The aircraft diverted to Quebec/Jean Lesage Int Airport, QC (CYQB)
where it landed safely. Contact marks were observed by the personnel of
maintenance. There were no injuries.

Would you happen to have a link/source to this event/occurrence?pelmet wrote: ↑Tue May 16, 2023 5:05 pm C-FTXK, a Canadair CL-215 operated by the Service Aérien Gouvernemental du Québec, with

From the TSB....
C-FPNB, a privately registered Christen Eagle II, was being flown on a local visual flight rules trip
from Abbotsford International (CYXX), BC, with the pilot and one passenger on board. At
Chilliwack (CYCW), BC, the pilot conducted 3 circuits. During approach to Runway 25 on the third
circuit, the aircraft struck a lamp post adjacent to the westbound lane of the Trans Canada
Highway. The collision occurred 1627 feet east of the beginning of the paved surface of Runway
25, at a height of approximately 30 feet above ground level. The lamp post was found on the
ground near the impact location, severed from its base, with the lamp head separated from the
post. The impact caused significant damage to the left lower wing and undercarriage of the aircraft.
The aircraft continued flying from the point of collision to Runway 25. Upon landing, the aircraft
undercarriage failed to support the weight of the aircraft, and the propeller contacted the runway.
After the aircraft came to rest, the pilot and passenger were able to egress. The aircraft was
substantially damaged and was leaking fuel. There was no fire, and no injuries were reported. First
responders attended the scene.
The aircraft was recovered to a local maintenance facility where the extent of the damage will be
assessed.

C-FSVU, a privately registered Piper PA-28-140, was conducting a recreational flight from the Red
Deer Forestry Aerodrome (CFR7), AB to Lacombe Aerodrome (CEG3), AB. The pilot elected to
conduct a sightseeing overflight of Burnstick Lake, AB (25 NM NE of CFR7), and on the second
pass, descended low enough that the aircraft wheels made contact with the snow-covered lake
surface. The aircraft came to an abrupt stop, and ultimately flipped over on to its top. The aircraft
was substantially damaged. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the aircraft, was wearing a
seatbelt and was able to exit the aircraft out a side window. He sustained no injuries.
