Air Canada 767 pax returns?
Latest rumour……
The 2 767’s that the company has chosen not to convert to freighters (fin 640 and 641), are returning in their current pax configuration; around January 2025 as aircraft orders have slowed.

Orders have slowed? Or deliveries have slowed?
What's the backlog on a new WB? Returning two 767s in 7 months is a much shorter wait than getting new WB aircraft. Planes they already own are guaranteed. The new 787-10s are at the mercy of the Boeing QC problems, and even then, over a year away.

Doesn't surprise me to hear that they would return 2, as AC is already wet leasing an omni air 767 for a month this summer

Sorry you’re absolutely right, deliveries not orders.
Re: Air Canada 767 pax returns?
The cargo 767 seem to be sitting all over YYZ airport. Maybe they do fly at night only? Do they not have enough work?

Weird, since the pilots took a 10% pay cut to capture the flying, they should be busy.
Re: Air Canada 767 pax returns?
All correct. 2 767s will be "activated" for pax flying doing Canada/US transcon.
Combo of: several 220s being aog with engine issues, potential delivery delays of the 321XLRs and 787-10s, cargo flying is way down (I think they have completely stopped doing Europe, just N & S. America now).
The question is how does this work with the 10% pay cut. Will pax flights be paid normal rate?

Re: Air Canada 767 pax returns?
Only a full re bid is acceptable. Pax 67 is a “WB” on cmsc.
No let’s ever again.

Re: Air Canada 767 pax returns?
Did you guys here this officially? I haven't seen anything from the company or ALPA on this.
Probably inflight will know before flight ops...
They never should have parked the 767s. What a horrible miscalculation. Completely gutted our schedule and gave all those destinations and market away.
A larger mixed cargo/pax 767 fleet would deliver better economies and the ability to have cargo slow and still keep guys flying on the passenger side and then easily spool up when required.

Re: Air Canada 767 pax returns?
I've heard that from a reliable source.
The thing is, it was a Management FU to park the entire Rouge fleet. Those people should have been fired, but some were promoted instead. You can't make this shit up. The loss of market share and the revenue generated by it is staggering.
Now they want two 767's reactivated as Pax. Not our problem. Full CMSC, and a course right to bid it. No LETs.
F Off. Follow the Contract.

That's a given. Lets during the current negotiation relationship would be non-sensical.
