Not really the most useful codeshare. BA, Aer Lingus or Easyjet would make more sense. Right now you pretty much have to organise your own connecting flights from LHR if flying Westjet.

Did you read the whole article? Also do you think it's possible BA, Aer Lingus or Easyjet would cs with WJ? And we are talking Richard Branson. Like the guy and his companies are no flakes.
Re: WestJet/Virgin Atlantic
Yes, I did read the article, hence my reply. The majority of LHR flights are to the EU (https://www.heathrow.com/company/invest ... statistics). I see Virgin doesn't fly anywhere in the EU.Ruger Princess wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 6:48 pm

I'm not sure what you're implying by saying that BA, Easyjet and Aer Lingus wouldn't partner with WJ, but Virgin would.

I was more questioning the financial aspects of the cs with the above 3 rather than the reputation or anything of the like - if that's what you thought.CpnCrunch wrote: ↑Mon Jun 10, 2024 7:16 pmYes, I did read the article, hence my reply. And as for the EU, so? It gives markets like India and Africa. Not small by any rate.
I'm 100% okay to agree to disagree. I just think this is a great thing for WJ, people flying, VIrgin Atlantic, and who doesn't want to be more (because they already are a bit) with Branson?! Like it's birds of a feather.
But that's just my piddly 2 cents.
Re: WestJet/Virgin Atlantic
With their AF/KLM codeshare I don’t think they are as worried about EU connections
Re: WestJet/Virgin Atlantic
I have never flown Virgin, as they just dont fly where i want to go. I just think it would be more useful to have connections to the uk and europe from lhr. I fly westjet to lhr often, and its a huge pita, although ive discovered the joys of premier inn (not being facetious here, its great).
Re: WestJet/Virgin Atlantic
Yes, good point, but still a huge gap in lack of uk codeshares.
Re: WestJet/Virgin Atlantic
Through AF and CDG they do Manchester, Newcastle and Birmingham. With summertime to DUB, EDI and LGW and year round to LHR, that's 7 of the 10 busiest airports in the UK and Ireland. Not perfect by any means, but a little more understandable why there isn't a BA code share.
